Construction: Melody Box (Japanese: e GAME ZERO メロディボックス e GAME ZERO Melody Box) is the name of a constructible Pokémon-based application for the e-Reader. Using a large variety of compatible cards for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, a player can play various pieces of music on the Game Boy Advance, apply different effects to it, and add different backgrounds.

Construction: Melody Box requires at least one of three different categories of cards: a "music" card, which can contain a sample or a complete piece of music (several are derived from tracks featured in the Pokémon games), a "sound" card, which changes the way music is played (examples include making the music sound like it is being sung by a Chikorita, or played on an organ), and a "pattern" card, which changes the background pattern displayed when music is played. While only one of these is required to start the application (a generic piece of music is played if only a sound or pattern is scanned), players will get the most out of the Melody Box if they use a combination. The e-Reader does not save scanned song combinations, therefore a player will have to re-scan each card again once they exit the application.

While music is playing, a Clefairy will appear on the center stage conducting. Clefairy can be moved up or down to change the pitch of the music, and left or right to change the speed of the music.

Cards compatible with Construction: Melody Box can be found in the Expedition Base Set, and the Aquapolis and Skyridge expansions. Several compatible cards remain exclusive to Japan, appearing as part of the P Promotional cards collection and McDonald's Pokémon-e Minimum Pack.
