Release information
This card was released in the English EX Ruby & Sapphire expansion, first originating from the Japanese Expansion Pack. In Japan, it was reprinted as a promotional card and awarded as a prize to anyone who participated in the regional Autumn 2003 Battle Road tournaments. This print has a gold foil "Battle Road Autumn★2003" stamp in the bottom right corner of the card. Outside of Japan, it was awarded as a prize to those who attended the Pokémon e-League throughout March 2004. The standard prize bears no difference to the EX Ruby & Sapphire print, whereas winner versions have "Winner" in the bottom right corner of the artwork. Jumbo versions of the winner print were also distributed as prizes, though were fewer in number due to cost reasons. It was later reprinted in the English EX Emerald expansion and the Japanese Master Kit.
Trivia
- This card is similar to the Berry card from the Neo Genesis set. This similarity is based on the fact that the Oran Berry in Generations III and later has the same effect as the normal Berry in Generation II.
- Of the handful of Jumbo winner cards produced during the 2003-2004 Pokémon League season, Oran Berry was the last to be produced due to their production cost. It is also the only winner card to have a non-foil "Winner" stamp, present on both the regular and Jumbo versions.
Origin
Oran Berry is a type of Berry in the Pokémon games that can be consumed by a Pokémon to heal its HP.
