Era 2010-

ReshiBoar is a deck that was one of the first conceived when the HGSS-on Format was introduced. It combines Reshiram from Black and White, and Emboar from Black and White.

The strategy of the deck is to keep cycling Energy with Emboar to constantly hit for 120 with Reshiram's Blue Flare.

Emboar's Ability, Inferno Fandango, allows one to attach as many Fire Energies to one's Pokémon as one likes. Combined with Reshiram's Blue Flare, and Energy Retrieval, the deck consistently outputs 120 damage. Before significant tournament results emerged, it was debated whether ReshiBoar or TyRam was the better deck. TyRam became much more successful because the ability to recycle energy allowed the deck to conserve space, while ReshiBoar had to devote several slots to Energy Retrieval and more Energy cards.

Deck strategy

The main cards in this deck are Reshiram and Emboar. Reshiram is the main attacker which does 120 damage for 1 Colorless and 2 Fire Energy; however, the player discards 2 Fire Energy. Emboar's Ability lets the player move as much Fire Energy as they like to Reshiram to attack again in 1 turn.
