Surely if the Hippopotas gets an article then Ash's Larvitar should have a section, their roles are quite similar in that they are both carried by Ash to be returned to their family and constantly use a certain move (Larvitar's being Harden and Hippopotas' being Yawn), the only differences are that Larvitar debuted as an egg and was used in battle, so shouldn't it have some part in this page (given that Ash didn't truly capture Larvitar)? This page seems to be nothing but an excuse to avoid giving notable wild Pokémon their own articles. They have their own infoboxes, and some even have their own trivia sections. This article is basically just a collection of smaller, unrelated articles rather than a list. If the Pokémon is a notable enough character to get a section on this page, then I think it's likely notable enough for its own article; by being on this page, it means they served a significant role in the anime. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:# | This page seems to be nothing but an excuse to avoid giving notable wild Pokémon their own articles. I definitely think that Florges, | I definitely think that Florges, ZI, and Malamar need to be split, as they are all given more personality and characterization than many human characters who have their own articles. I'm also fine with Lugia and Wooper getting their own articles, though I find that less urgent than Florges, ZI, and Malamar. We may also want to consider splitting Wynaut, Spoink, and Hippopotas. Wynaut is a running gag similar to Jigglypuff with its own personality, while Spoink and Hippopotas both function as the main character in their respective episodes, and are easily more like characters of the day than [[Nero]] (besides the obvious fact that they appear more than once; my point is, their character is more fleshed out). - The article says recurring wild Pokémon. The purpose of this is to list Pokémon like Jigglypuff, Snubbull, Spoink, and Hippopotas. Aipom and Gible are owned by main characters, and I don't see a need for them on the list. - Well then, in that case, then does Madame Muchmoney's Granbull belong here and on the template? As far as I'm concerned, it's not a wild Pokémon. I won't take it off, but if I'm right, then somebody please do that. Also, referring to the first post, there's a page on it. Ash's Larvitar
Loudred on Dewoford Island
Some raised this topic before but no one replied, an angry Laudred appeared many times throught out the Dewofard saga, however is right to assume it was the same one? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- I think it's the same one. The situations it got into numerous times (being surprised/stepped on/vice gripped while sleeping) all point in that direction. You might as well say the wynaut in this article is I or I completely different Pokémon, there is no more evidence to support it being the same one than the loudred. WellyDawn II:II, II IIII (UTC)

Slowking
Can I propose that Slowking be removed from this page? It was a main character in the movie and had one tiny extra appearance. I wouldn't call that recurring, so I'd suggest it should get its own page like character-of-the-day Pokémon Nero, Orville or other movie Pokémon main characters: Lucario (MII), Entei (MII), Zoroark (MII) or Mewtwo (anime). Its a major character with a special backstory. It never appears in any main series. Toon Ganondorf (t c) II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- I oppose. Slowking has done too little to even have its own article.--ForceFire II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- It was more significant than half the human characters who appeared in the second movie. I don't think classing it as "recurring" is appropriate, because its not reappearing, it was a central character and then had one extra episode which had backstory to its . Its not "occuring again, periodically, or repeatedly", which the definition of Recurring is. If there was another page to move it to I'd be happy with that, but it can't stay here. It doesn't make sense. Toon Ganondorf (t c) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- Can I get some other opinions? I just don't think its right that Carol gets an article for her tiny role whilst Slowking, the main Pokémon besides the birds themselves, gets shoved into a combined article purely because its a Pokémon. Toon Ganondorf (t c) II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- Personally, I have to support this motion. Slowking isn't a reoccuring character in the anime like the rest of the Pokémon mentioned on this page. It appeared in the movie, in the Slowking's Day short and we haven't seen it since. Plus, as Toon Ganondorf said, it did play a pretty important role in the film... far more than Melody's sister Carol did. LauraacIIII II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- I support the move, Slowking is just as notable as the Unown in the third movie Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, I IIII
- I also support the move. I think of Slowking as a character of the day and they all get pages. He has a speaking role too. Human characters get pages if they appear multiple times in an episode/movie and speak usually so why shouldn't it be the same for Slowking? ☆The Solar Dragon☆ II:II, II IIII (UTC)

We really need some guild lines on what a 'recurring' pokemon is. Groudon, Kyogre, Zekrom, Reshiram and Florges only appeared in two or parters. In other words, while Groudon appeared in two episodes, it only appeared in one story, one minuet episode if you like. We don't put characters like Lewis or Ridley from the BW two partners down as tempory companions because they are no more re-occurring than A.J. or Otashi because they only 'occurred' once. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, II May IIII (UTC)
- That seems reasonable, but I'm not really in charge of anime, so I'd wait for a few more opinions. --Abcboy (talk) II:II, II May IIII (UTC)
- It depends on how "recurring" is taken, but I disagree with removing the sections right away because there are now links on anime episode articles linking to sections that don't exist on this page anymore, so I feel like there needs to be an actual decision based on this before we leave those sections off. AGGRONIII II:II, II May IIII (UTC)
- I believe the editorial board needs to make decisions of edits like the one removing II,III+ bytes of information earlier. I have reverted it and am recommending editorial board review. There is a lot to clean up if that information is ALL removed. CycloneGU (talk) II:II, II May IIII (UTC)
- At the time I removed all this, the appropriate links had not been set up on other pages. The misguided decision to add all this in the first place was just as drastic an edit as mine. All of the Pokémon I mentioned only appeared once despite being in two episodes. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, I IIII (UTC)

Deoxys's Protect
Where did Deoxys from the Deoxys' Crisis! two-parter use Protect? I only remember seeing it using Safeguard instead of Protect. PattyMan II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- Deoxys used Protect when it was battling in its defense form. SeabiscuitIIII (talk) II:II, II IIII (UTC)
Puni-chan
It's probably going to appear a lot more in the anime, and has a nickname too. It should be treated more like Ash's Larvitar and some other wild Pokémon on this page and given its own article. --Abcboy (talk) II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- I agree. Squishy's clearly going to play a huge role in things to come, way more than your average recurring wild Pokémon. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talk • contribs) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
Now that a separate Puni-chan article has been established, should we adjust the Zygarde page to focus on Z-I, perhaps using the codename as its "nickname"? - Chosen of Mana II:II, II IIII (UTC)
Should we add Meowth, Ash's Caterpie and Aura Sphere Riolu.
Meowth does not have a Pokeball and was even almost caught by Iris.
Ash's Caterpie was at the end of episode I but not caught till episode I.
and the Aura Sphere Riolu was in I episodes.- SuperIIZX II:II (UTC)
- Meowth is covered by being a part of Team Rocket, even though it has been shown Meowth is technically wild. He is associated with Team Rocket so much that it doesn't have the same meaning as a truly wild Pokémon.
- Ash's Caterpie was only in I episodes wild (counting the episode it was captured), and if I recall correctly there's usually a minimum of episodes preferred for a Pokémon to be considered recurring (or at least not have both episodes be back-to-back continuations of each other).
- Aura Sphere Rioulu falls into the same category as Ash's Caterpie: only I episodes, both the same plot arc, aired back-to-back. ChE clarinetist (talk) II:II, II April IIII (UTC)
Ok I understand stand all your reasons. But if Meowth is kept by being a member of Team Rocket, how come Team Rockets Delibird is listed on this page. - SuperIIZX II:II (UTC)
- I agree with your reasoning for Riolu and Caterpie, but more specifically they shouldnt be adde because they do not 're-occur' if a Pokemon appears in consecutive episodes, it is no more a recurring Pokemon than Montgomery who appered once over the span of episodes. However, though I've mentioned this before, Pokemon like Groudon, Kyogre and Zekrom are all still listed here despite not actually being recurring. If they are listed, Caterpie and Riolu just be listed for consistency's sake. And I might syggest changing the name of the page to 'Any Wild Pokemon in the anime that has appered in more than one episode' because a lot of the Pokemon on this page are not recurring. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, II April IIII (UTC)
I agree with you IIIII but maybe instead call it 'List of Wild Pokemon in the anime that have appered in more than one episode' -SuperIIZX Jun, II, IIII II:II:II (UTC)
Why do people think the T___us and Landorus are the same in both episodes?
I watched both episodes (counting each I-parter as one together), and they never mentioned the genies being the exact same ones as before. I removed it, but someone else undid it & told me to bring it here. Unowninator (talk) II:II, II June IIII (UTC)
Split
This page seems to be nothing but an excuse to avoid giving notable wild Pokémon their own articles. They have their own infoboxes, and some even have their own trivia sections. This article is basically just a collection of smaller, unrelated articles rather than a list. If the Pokémon is a notable enough character to get a section on this page, then I think it's likely notable enough for its own article; by being on this page, it means they served a significant role in the anime. --SnorlaxMonster II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- If we were to get rid of this page completely, it would mean double-checking the notability of the Pokémon on this list. For example, I don't think Marill or Zekrom have enough information to merit its own page. - Chosen of Mana II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- We don't necessarily have to delete this page, but I don't think it should be formatted as a stack of mini-articles. If Zekrom and Marill don't have enough information for their own articles, they shouldn't have pseudo-articles here. --SnorlaxMonster II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- Most of the Pokémon on here aren't even recurring anyway; Zekrom, Groudon and Kyogre for example only appeared once despite appearing in two-part episodes. Surely there is a difference between two appearances and two episodes that haven't a second of "in-world" time between them? Are Lewis and Ridley recurring characters? I agree with SnorlaxMonster!Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- I've drafted some pages for those definatly deserving of a split; User:IIIII/Lugia (anime), User:IIIII/Florges (anime) and User:IIIII/ZI. I'd also like to reaffirm, while Ive mentioned it several times above that Groudon, Kyogre, Deoxys, Zekrom and Reshiram are not recurring Pokémon! Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, II IIII (UTC)

I definitely think that Florges, ZI, and Malamar need to be split, as they are all given more personality and characterization than many human characters who have their own articles. I'm also fine with Lugia and Wooper getting their own articles, though I find that less urgent than Florges, ZI, and Malamar. We may also want to consider splitting Wynaut, Spoink, and Hippopotas. Wynaut is a running gag similar to Jigglypuff with its own personality, while Spoink and Hippopotas both function as the main character in their respective episodes, and are easily more like characters of the day than Nero (besides the obvious fact that they appear more than once; my point is, their character is more fleshed out). The same could be said for several other Pokemon without pages IMO, such as Snover from The Lonely Snover. Nutter Butter (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
ZI
This one should defiantly be split from here... Diamond Lanturn CodeName: IIIII II:II, II IIII (UTC)
ZI
ZI at least NOW deserves its own page... The legendary PkmnTrainerV is Here! (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- ZI definitely, Florges too I suppose, but ZI has more than enough info for a page and since it's likely to get more from the upcoming episodes... --Handmaiden III (tAlk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
One more reason, something I got from here (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Bulbapedia:Manual_of_style/Anime#Notability_requirements I don't know how to link pages...) "Recurring wild Pokémon may only receive articles if they had a significant impact on the plot AND appeared in at least episodes. An example of this would be the Snubbull/Granbull that followed Team Rocket around, and the Jigglypuff that followed around Ash and his friends. All others should have a section on the recurring wild Pokémon in the anime article."
ZI meets both requirements. The legendary PkmnTrainerV is Here! (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- Does Florges count too? It appeared in more than episodes, and I guess she had impact on Goomy, but does that count? --Handmaiden III (tAlk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
Bewear
Is it worth including Bewear to the list? It made its debut in SMIII and has been following Team Rocket since SMIII. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
Regarding Bewear... I have reviewed Episode One quite a bit and have severe doubts that the Bewear Ash and Pikachu met was reacting to them joyfully as the article has stated. As yet I can't be certain that Jessie and James encountered the same bear (in Episode ) that Ash did. The bear they met has a very strong nurturing instinct and appears to have adopted them. The bear that Ash and Pikachu met waved and then chopped down trees with its - ahem - 'bear/bare' arms. There was a dark shadow over its eyes as it did this, so I take from this that his Bewear was being aggressive. Jaylaw (talk) 21:45, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
Litten
Should Litten be added here? Sure it might be caught in a few episodes time but it's shown up from SMIII to SMIII, it doesn't follow Ash and co around but it is still there Azure/ChromeVoidII (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
Tapu Koko's Electric Surge
Why was Tapu Koko's Electric Surge ability removed? As soon as its battle with Ash begun, it activated Electric Surge, which Professor Kukui and Lillie mistaken it for Electric Terrain. Weather/field based abilities always activate on the first turn the Pokémon that has them appears in battle. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- didn't they say it was electric terrain?--Pikablu (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- If it was called Electric Terrain we have to assume that because the anime doesn't always follow the games. If it turns out later to be Electric Surge, then it will be fixed. Nutter Butter (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- When Electric Terrain was used, the Pokémon would discharge electricity to the ground. When Tapu Koko activated Electric Surge, electric rings were emitted from its . --PKMNAdventurer (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- Moves change in new series. Electric Terrain was called out, so it's Electric Terrain. If we're going to assume this was a mistake then any other move that was called out could be a mistake as well. PlayerkingII (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- Since this is going nowhere really fast, I think we should just let this discussion go. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)

Komala
Is it wild or does it belong to Samson Oak? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- There is no reason to believe it belongs to Samson or anyone else, except the opening, which is considered non-canon. If a future episode confirms it belongs to Samson, it will be removed from this page. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- Ok. The ending Pose also hinted as well that the Komala might belong to Samson Oak. In it, it showed everyone with their Pokémon and Samson Oak with a Komala in his section of the ending. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)
- That could just be referring to the fact that it is used at the bell ringer at the Pokemon School and Samson Oak is the Principal of the school, or Samson could catch it in the future, but for now, there is nothing to suggest that Samson Oak owns it. PlayerkingII (talk) II:II, I IIII (UTC)

Doesn't Rotom belong to the Professor? (What's his name again?) Unowninator (talk) II:II, II IIII (UTC)
Litten
It has appeared for more than I episodes. We have sufficient information on it. It even has its focus episode! Surely Litten deserves an article to itself! Just saying 'coz It has passed the notability requirements. The legendary PkmnTrainerV is Here! (talk) II:II, II IIII (UTC)
- But most of its appearances were just cameo's and there's nothing to suggest it will be appearing anytime soon, even if it's just in more cameos. Maybe later on if it appears more prominently, or if Ash catches it. PlayerkingII (talk) II:II, II IIII (UTC)
