Game mention
While visiting Lanette, players can check one of her computers to find an E-mail from Bill. This is the only time that he is mentioned in the game.
- I thought it wasn't signed in the Japanese version... ((Ketsuban))
- I dunno, but it definitely is in the English version. Anybody refrence that one for me?
- It isn't signed in Emerald, but it's very like, considering there are no other storage system developers we know of at that time (except perhaps the Orre developer?). - 刘 (劉) 振霖 07:04, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

In the games section
The English in this section is TERRIBLE. I recognize it was probably written by a non-native speaker, but I haven't the patience to fix it. Someone, PLEASE give it a good copyediting. --DrGaellon (talk | contribs) 04:28, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Pokemon Owned
We should write down the Pokémon Bill owned: Abra, Eevee lv. 20 (I forgot the moves....Tackle, Sand Attack, Tail Whip, Pursuit?) (games)...same with the manga....it'll look more organized. ---ht14 9:39 (GMT) 21 February 2008
Researcher, Collector, or Maniac?
In Generation I, he's called both THE Pokémon Collector and "a true blue Pokémaniac." Never once do the first generation games call him a Pokémon Researcher. Where did that come from - speculation based on the fact he made the PC System? He's more of a Sys Ops than a Researcher. Satosuke 20:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- The anime and The Electric Tale of Pikachu explicitly label him as a Pokémon Researcher, and Pokémon Special has shown him studying Pokémon in the wild. You're right in saying he's not mentioned as being a Researcher in the games, but in other canon, he's not really just Sys Ops either.- unsigned comment from Kaz (talk • contribs)
Just a generic Monster Pokemon
It says here that in Generation 1, Bill was combined with a Clefairy. I thought it was just a costume, and if it was a Clefairy, wouldn't it have the Fairy Pokemon sprite? How do we know it's a Clefairy? Jdrawer 17:11, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
- It was only a costume in the anime. Every other instance, he's actually fused with a Pokémon. As for whether or not we know for certain he combined himself with a Clefairy, you're right, we don't. We can only assume it was because of the fact that it was a Clefairy in the remakes. Sure, not quite conclusive proof, but. --JXValentine 18:01, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Bill's Grandfather's Son
We have a page for Bill's grandfather, but not for his father. Why? Do we just not have enough information or is it that we just don't want to do it? Jdrawer 17:12, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
- As far as I'm aware, Bill's Father never actually shows up anywhere, in any medium. There isn't any information at all, yet alone enough for an article. Werdnae (talk) 18:40, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
- I believe Bill's father appears in Goldenrod in Generation II. And he's mentioned by Poké Maniac Brent over the PokéGear. |) u |( e ® 21:54, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
- The difference though is that Bill's grandfather actually does something in-game. As far as I know, Bill's father doesn't do anything special besides being Bill's father. Funktastic~! 22:00, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
- To add, he doesn't actually appear anyway. He's at best only mentioned as a passing reference. Which character he is comes down to pure fan speculation. Adding an article about him would therefore be a lot like adding an article about Ash's father because we just don't know anything about him beyond what Brent, Bill, and Bill's mother tells us via one-liners. --JXValentine 17:59, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Bill’s dad is the Move Tutor.
- He is only mentioned in Crystal.
- Bill describes him as a deadbeat who doesn’t work.
- Bill’s mother says he’s at the Game Corner, and describes him as a former Pokémaniac.
- The Move Tutor only appears in Crystal.
- He stands outside the Game Corner, and after being paid in coins walks inside where he sits at one of the machines.
- When the Move Tutor is outside, his machine has a sweet drink left behind. Not just lazy, but an alcoholic too…

Dragonite's voice actor
I might be misunderstanding, but it appears that somebody was requesting Dragonite's voice actor in the anime. I searched up whale sound effects online and got an almost identical sound from the English dub (although the pitches and quality were different, but that might just be YouTube). I believe that they just got the sound effect from a Public Domain soundbank (or 4Kids was up to some sort of antics Hatster tried his best. It's not very effective (talk) 01:26, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Nephew
Where is the nephew from? Who's their parent? I can't find any reference to it myself at all. --The Great Butler (talk) 04:29, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
