Negative effect?
I see that the category has been added and removed to the page, and it made me realize that this is a curious case. The Ability clearly has no drawbacks to user itself, but it may indeed reduce the speed stat of an ally during a double battle, which may be considered negative overall. It probably comes down to how we define a negative effect for this purpose, if it must be negative specifically to the user, or to its team as a whole.
I'm really not sure what would be the best choice, but I wanted to bring this up to see if anyone else has some thoughts about it. Just think that whichever option we choose, we should remain consistent with it. Suic (talk) 12:40, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- I don't really understand why we have to define what "negative" is. It's subjective, I could probably make a case for any Ability. I think we shouldn't introduce ambiguity where we don't have to, subjective categories are mostly pointless, I personally think they shouldn't exist. Nescientist (talk) 15:27, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- Well, sure, we don't have to define it, but as long as we have these somewhat subjective categories (and I'm not saying we necessarily should keep them), we might as well try to keep them consistent as best as we can. Anyway, it's not like this is a big issue or anything. Suic (talk) 20:30, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- I like discussion and consensus and asking for opinion on tricky topics even when it's no big issue. Plus, I may frequently prefer one thing for a reason, and at the same time be fine with alternatives.
- Anyway, while not directly answering your question, I tried to raise a new point that was related (from my point of view). If you think I've widened the scope too much, then I'll say that I prefer what TehPerson has made explicit, restricting to negative effects on the user (because that's less ambiguous/subjective).
