Are we 100% sure that the Japanese name specifically refers to Krabby, and isn't just using the word "crab"? - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talk • contribs) 23:48, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- It might be unknow, on what the name based: on Krabby, or on a Crab, but in both cases Pokemon is still refered. — ∀ЫъГѣ ∃Talk page 05:05, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- I put that in the trivia section. I thought it referred to Krabby, because it was its signature move in Generation I, and yeah, later stuff could learn it which had nothing to do with Krabby, but hey, the same happened to Octazooka. Plus, I can't really think of any other move that references a real-life animal (except for Bug Buzz and Bug Bite, but they could be referring to the Type with the same name, and stuff like Brave Bird... and I guess bird-like Pokémon are called birds in the Pokémon universe, at least Falkner called them bird Pokémon.) So, the "Crab" part in Crabhammer's Japanese name is spelled the same as Krabby's Japanese name, and probably Japanese children associated Crabhammer with Krabby more than Crabs (because how would they know what crab means in English?), and, you know, only Krabby and its evolution could use the attack. Trivia section.
Okutank Cannon/Octazooka and Crab Hammer are not the only names to incorporate a Pokémon name. Coil/Coil Around also does so, but it is not referring to a Pokémon that can learn the move.
Oh, my bad, it is not referring to the Pokémon itself in Japanese. Renoir (talk) 06:09, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, that way, Icicle Spear would reference Beedrill, which wouldn't make any sense either, really. It only counts if a Japanese Pokémon bame is in a Japanese attack, or az English Pokémon name is in az English attack. Krisi (talk) 23:51, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Not allowed...
so i wanted to post an animated Stadium 2 Battle Animation but.. apparently i'm not allowed to.. and ......... why am i writing this no one has been here for 2 years.. - unsigned comment from Tditdatdwt (talk • contribs)
- It would be a bad idea. Not many moves from the console games are animated, and those who do, are heavy. Like this one. Eridanus (talk) 15:54, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
ahaha that animated move looks beautiful and y'know i don't have a problem makin' 'em ~- unsigned comment from Tditdatdwt (talk • contribs)
