The term

I think we also use the same term when we're talking about moves such as Cut, Fly, Teleport in the main games, so I think we should either have a {{search}} template to redirect the people to the correct page or we should edit the page to tell about both the main game and Ranger field moves. Renaming

Am I allow to rename this page? Cinday123 (talk) 09:29, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Regarding merging

In the main games, the focus is always battling and raising your Pokemon, not the "field" moves; those are just trivial obstacles, little better than the people who'll stand in your way until you have a certain badge, even when that's not their implicit purpose. (The only "field move" that ever even gets a halfway clever use is Strength, like in the Seafoam Islands.) In the Ranger games, it's often all about recruiting the right Pokemon with the right field move to advance - and there are many more field moves and each Pokemon only knows one, making it quite different than in the main games. To my knowledge, the main games never call Cut/etc "field moves", while the Ranger games teach you about them in the tutorials.

So if you want to merge them, I'd say that the Ranger elements should have primacy in the resultant article, and the section about the main games should be relegated to the bottom of the page.

I mostly feel that the Ranger games and the main games are too different to really justify merging them, though. Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:05, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
