Talk:Friend Code
The Pal Pad is the device into which you register codes of other players. When in that device, however, it asks you for a "Friend Code". On the Nintendo 3DS, there is a feature - SEPARATE FROM POKEMON - called Friend Codes. These are not compatible with the codes within the game - that is, when one of the 3DS friend codes are entered into the pal pad, an error is generated saying that it is a wrong Friend code.
However, if you enter the 3DS code into its address book (what is its name?), the user is registered, and appears to be seen within Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 - perhaps other games.
This is confusing.- unsigned comment from Lvirden (talk • contribs)
- First, sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Second, if you want to mention that the 3DS also has a function called Friend Code, go ahead. But when the Pal Pad says it is a wrong Friend Code, it's not an error, it's just that those FC's are different things. Generation V games are somehow ready for 3DS features, for instance, when you choose "Nintendo WFC settings" in the main menu it says you can use 3DS's settings instead, but that doesn't mean the in-game codes are the same as the 3DS ones. |) u |( e ® 14:16, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
3DS Friend Code
I don't have a 3DS at the moment, but this page seems to need some updating with information for the 3DS. In particular, from things I read elsewheres online (for example), this: "Friend Codes, along with the Wi-Fi ID on a DS, are reset when Wi-Fi Connection is used on another DS", appears to be wrong (or misleading for the 3DS), and so does this: "Each Friend Code differs between games".Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:47, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- The information on the article is correct, but only up to Generation V it seems. Nothing has been added for the 3DS Friend Codes, which work on a similar concept, but act differently due to different limitations. I should have some time to update it in a moment. --Super goku (talk) 19:23, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
