English name

Is there any official material that actually calls him Scuz (like, CCs/subtitles, anime novelization etc.)? Because I haven't found any references to this name and it seems to me that it was simply assumed from Captain Crook's line "-We're all outta cannonballs! -Then we'll use a scuzzball!" as he fires him from the cannon. I guess someone interpreted that as being a name pun ("Scuz-ball"), but nothing really indicates that. Scuzzball is actually a common noun, a slang term meaning "a despicable person", so the pun might just play on the similarity between the words scuzzball and cannonball (and possibly a sign of Crook's lack of respect towards him). Also, in the Closed Captionings (at least the Pokemon.com ones) the word scuzzball is not even capitalized or spelt in some unusual way, indicating that it's simply used as a common noun. Furthermore, the name list that was provided to the translators of the Polish dub (I got that from a friend years ago) refers to him simply as "Slim Pirate", indicating that the dubbers might have intended him to be unnamed (the list isn't perfectly complete and it does have some errors or beta-names here and there, but it's a still indication nevertheless). So, unless we find some confirmation for the name "Scuz", I guess it'd be safer to move this page to his Japanese name (Gari or Ghali, depending on how you romanize it). --Maxim (talk) 22:16, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

I've also come to the same conclusion, and support the move to have the character be referred to only by his japanese name. As said the name "scuz" was only used once in the episode and appears to be an intended pun.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 05:05, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
