Greaves

On the Bulbagarden discord server, we've been discussing changing the description of greaves in the Name origin section to be more concise and accurate. We've currently come up with "greaves (a byproduct of a historic method of candlemaking; typically used as dog food)". Would that work?

I'm also considering adding the info to the main part of the Origin section, as it seems possible that Greavard itself could be a reference to the process of rendering tallow for making candles, and the greaves that remain and are fed to dogs, due to Greavard literally being a dog with a candle on its head. I guess that works. Personally i want to keep the whole "animal fat processed into tallow for candles, and greaves for dog food" thing in there somehow (eg. "residue from melting animal fat historically used to make candles; typically used as dog food" in the current version of the page), so putting it in Origin instead of Name origin works for me. I'll create a draft tonight and post it here. Landfish7 16:54, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
Alright so for the main "Origin" section I have: Greavard's "candle" and dog-like appearance may be a reference to the process of rendering animal fat into tallow, which was historically used to make candles and leaves behind a solid material called greaves that is often used as dog food."
And for the "Name origin" section I have: "greaves (a byproduct of a historical method of candlemaking; typically used as dog food)". Thoughts? Landfish7 04:01, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
sure. maybe remove the "" from "candle". Anzasquiddles (talk) 08:31, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
