Talk:Holiday Hi-Jynx
Title
It is mentioned that this is the first one that Jessie says the title, but is it not also the first one where someone other than Ash says the title? (I haven't checked, that's why I'm suggesting it here instead of editing it myself) (Shivafang 13:51, 26 July 2010 (UTC))
- Nope. Ash Catches a Pokémon takes the distinction as the first episode where anyone other than Ash read the title card, as Misty read that episode's title card. --Shiningpikablu252 21:43, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Contradiction
On this page's (and Snow Way Out's) trivia:
- Due to not airing when initially intended, it will be considered by Bulbapedia to be a special episode.
On Princess Versus Princess's trivia:
- This episode was originally scheduled to air on Girls' Day itself, on March 3, 1998, but was rescheduled in the aftermath of EP038.
- The original airing schedule suggests that this episode takes place between Showdown at Dark City and The March of the Exeggutor Squad (which aired in Japan on April 30, 1998 and May 7, 1998 respectively), which explains why Jessie's Lickitung is mentioned in So Near, Yet So Farfetch'd and predates the discovery of Togepi egg.
On The Purr-fect Hero's trivia
- This episode was originally scheduled to air on Children's Day itself, on May 5, 1998, but was rescheduled in the aftermath of EP038.
- The original airing schedule suggests that the events of this episode take place between Who Gets to Keep Togepi? and Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden.
So why the double standards? If Princess VS Princess and The Purr-fect Hero are considered normal episodes, despite clearly being aired out of order, then Holiday Hi-Jynx & Snow Way Out should be too, or the other two should be considered special episodes too. I would also like to see the original airing schedule if anyone knows how to find it. XVuvuzela2010X 17:45, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

- ...and continuing every week. Though the Japanese Pokemon LD actually officially considers Pikachu's Forest and only one of the Xmas eps as the special episodes. >_>
- As for Bulbapedia's choice, I believe I read somewhere it was intended so that it would use the same episode count as Pokeani. I could be wrong though. Bluesun 20:46, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- But they still aired between the wrong episodes, Princess vs Princess & The Purr-fect Hero would have originally been roughly EP046 & EP055 (this is counting Holiday Hi-Jynx, Snow Way Out and the unaired New Year episode). Plus like you said, Pikachu's Goodbye is a true special episode, yet is not considered one by Bulbapedia, even though the reason why it would be considered a special, being created in response to Electric Soldier Porygon and not being on the original airing schedule, is stated on the page, so why should Holiday Hi-Jynx and Snow Way Out be considered specials? XVuvuzela2010X 22:03, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- I think that we need to rename this episode. Because of this, DubHappy has all the Pokemon episodes' orders messed up. Jdrawer 02:54, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Move to EP039
Rocket-dan VS Plasma-dan! (Part 1, and Part 2), and Fishing Conference of Hiun City! Fisher Sommelier - Dent Appears!! have "not aired when initially intended", but are still considered to be BW023, BW024, and BW026 respectively, so is it not about time this, and and EP041, were corrected? XVuvuzela2010X 15:43, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think so. Not to mention the fact that quite a few of the post-EP038 episodes aired in the wrong order in the first place. However, we would have to move EP039 one number up, and we would have to put EP040 till the end of Johto two episodes up, and changing the names for 200+ episodes would probably take ages. I'm still up for it, though. Don't Hug Lucario! 07:23, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- There is no way we are moving a majority of the main series episodes. It is completely unreasonable to do that. If anything is changing, it will be the Best Wishes episodes. Please be patient. We are still thinking about what is going to be done. BW026 will be airing next week and we will decide sometime around then. --ケンジのガール 07:26, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I know it would be a bit of work, and I am not suggesting they be moved (and all links be changed) right away, but I don't think it should be completely out of the question. After all, we done pretty much the same with most of the Gen V articles, moving the pages and changing the links from one romanization to another, then moving them to their english names. And likethe previous poster said, these are not the only episodes, there is also Princess VS Princess, The Purr-fect Hero, the Farfetch'd episode, AG101, and the unaired new year episode. XVuvuzela2010X 15:07, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- No. This would be way more work than what happened after the English names for Generation V were released and a far more dramatic change. It's not just the episode articles we will have to worry about. We also have the redirects to the episodes, the redirects to the episodes outside of the original season (EP275 redirecting to AG001 and such), and title redirects. There will also be the matter of all the links be changed on many different characters, Pokémon, and moves. --ケンジのガール 21:50, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- It isn't that difficult. I've done it by myself with the Pikachu shorts. Although it was only 15 or so episode pages, it wasn't too much to handle, and I'm sure with a lot of people doing it, it would be done swiftly. Relinking is not and has never been an issue or a legitimate excuse. Please think of some reason more substantial than that one. MaverickNate 00:38, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- Heck, Blue, Green, and Special anyone?--MisterE13 01:40, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think it'll be that much work; after all, when Gen IV and Gen V started, we had to change all the Japanese names, right? I don't think changing the numbers for 235 episodes will be that much hard work, especially if about five people work on it at once.Don't Hug Lucario! 19:39, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

- Well it doesn't look like we'll be correcting these episodes, now that someone has moved BW023, BW024, BW027 and all other BW episodes past them to the wrong names... XVuvuzela2010X 13:32, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- They were moved for several reasons:
- Fisher Sommelier - Dent Appears! was retconned from what is was originally going to be to fit into that specific slot. It was originally going to be between Hiun Gym Match! Purehearted Bug Pokémon Battle!! and Beware of Cute Faces! Emonga Paralyzes!!, but after being postponed it was modified to fit between Fossil Revival! Ancient Mysterious Bird Archeos!! and Zorua The Movie! The Legend of the Pokémon Knight!!.
- Fisher Sommelier - Dent Appears! was referred to as episode 37 by a Japanese TV guide.
- Rocket-dan VS Plasma-dan! have been skipped over by the dub (English and Chinese) as well.
- It is consistent to what we do for other unaired episodes too, like AG101 (unaired) (the only other one with an article, and the one which does not have an article will be created in the same way) --SnorlaxMonster 14:00, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
Prev-Next Episode
What does everyone think of changing the Prev-Next episode box at the top of this page to conform to a new order that would go: EP038 Holiday Hi-Jynx EP40 (unaired) Snow Way Out! EP039 ? This order would make these episodes a lot easier to comprehend to people visiting the articles. --LimeGreenCharizard-- 11:19, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
Move to SP001
Since there is no article for SP001, "SP" means "special episode", can this article be moved to "SP001", please. Also, Snow Way Out should be moved to SP002, since it is a special episode, too.
