As many already know, i've been edit war'ing a lot lately. Let's get the discussion here, and i'll stop undoing when they're undoing me. Pokeand 19:05, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

More powerful versions should have the same accuracy, secondary effects and targets. Hurricane and gust fall down on two of those, so Hurricane is not a more powerful version of Gust. It is simply a stronger move. Werdnae (talk) 05:38, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
Looking at other pages, I'd be okay if it didn't meet one of the three. But two of the three is too different. Werdnae (talk) 05:39, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
But Hurricanes accuracy is different because of the use of a weather effect, increased/decreased, so that's what i'll call an added effect, which is what a stronger move could have (in this case along with the chance to confuse). Also, they can both hit targets in the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly, Bounce and Sky Drop. Pokeand 10:55, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Compare Psyshock and Psystrike. Psystrike is a proper stronger variation. Hurricane is just a stronger move of the same type, which happens to have one side effect in common. Magnitude and Earthquake both hit through Dig and Dive, but Earthquake isn't considered a more powerful version of Magnitude either. The accuracy boost in heavy rain is a further difference, not an increase in similarity. Werdnae (talk) 20:01, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Magnitude and Earthquake is actually a fine example. The reason why Magnitude wouldn't be classified as a less effective Earthquake is because it doesn't have a set power, in fact it can be stronger than Earthquake itself. If Magnitude did have a set power, and it was a good below Earthquake, i'd say it could be seen as a weak Earthquake (UPD: Even if it had other side-effects that Earthquake didn't have or the other way around.). double damage

According to this Sky Uppercut doesn't deal double damage to Bounced, Flying etc. foe Pokemon, so I was wondering if this truly does--Elveonora (talk) 14:00, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
