Protection?

Serebii just announced that the Daisuki Club just confirmed that Glaceon will have this ability when you catch it in the dream world, similar to Vaporeon gaining Hydration when caught in the dream world. Wouldn't it be smarter to protect this page, Glaceon (Pokémon) and Hydration (ability) until the games are released, similar to how Vaporeon (Pokémon) is protected due to similar reasons? On that note, I notice that Mamanbou is noted on Hydration, whereas I was under the impression Gen. V pokemon were not to be added until the game was released, unless it was stated on the official site? Myzou 11:09, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

http://www.pokemon-sp.jp/series/bw/#/pgl/pgl02_01.html (Official Site ~Serebii's Source), Showers' Ability was also known for a good while now. I've also tried and it seems like Staff doesn't seem to know what to do with PGL Abilities yet from who I had a talk with. You might get previous edit'd and a lock for the page afterward without reason. They really aren't that different from adding such a thing like Event moves for Moves like you see with many Event Pokemon, IMO. I even clearly specified Pokemon Global Link and that still wasn't good enough. Nigoli 19:09, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
They're different enough. We don't know enough about the mechanics of the new abilities to know how to organise the data. They'll likely require new templates or modifications of existing ones. If people go putting them into articles now, it'll be done inconsistently and will be a nightmare to keep track of. Bikini Miltank 19:30, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
I apologize, but I honestly don't see how a template modification or a new template has to do with this page in the least excluding something to add that it's only for Generation V. This isn't a Pokemon page. And there's also a very few Pokemon that are confirmed for a new ability through this method. If anything it's a placeholder. Nigoli 00:30, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Temporary details have been placed in articles previous without problem, i don't see why not here. What needs to be done is for new ability/pokemon pairings to be added, with an appropriate level of reference using the Bulbanews template for ability pages until the games release (for event-style cases, keep the template in), and possibly just a footer reference in the PokémonInfoBox template for pokemon pages. Template modification is most likely still a possibility, but could not be necessary if the pokemon affected have only one standard ability. Whether or not the intention of any involved task forces is to wait until the games release, edits describing new pokemon moves and abilities have been made in good faith and have been accurate to their source, just not in quality. --Trance 01:31, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Error in opening

I guess I can't change this since the page is protected, but it's erroneously stated that all Pokémon that can have this ability are Ice-type. Seel, however, is a pure Water-type. Locrian 14:47, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
