Talk:Incineroar (Pokémon)
Name Origin
Incineroar should be pretty obviously a portmanteau of incinerate and roar. ガオガエン, or Gaogaen, is probably from gao (to roar) and a corruption of kaen which means flame. --TheMaskedMeowth (talk) 15:04, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
Tiger Mask Origin
It may be inspired by the Tiger Mask manga and anime series. The main character was also (originally) a heel, is admired by a child and is heroic at heart. --Pdpd999 (talk) 16:27, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- Interesting, but that could be a coincidence. I mean, people could think of El Tigre for all we know. Not trying to be rude, I'm just saying that, while an interesting theory, unless there is official word on something like that, it is safer to just avoid pop culture characters references in the origin section or even in general, even though I think there are a few Pokés that still need cleaning up on that bit. Probably best to focus on any information that we can confirm, if you ask me. ----NateVirus(Talk|Contributions) 17:06, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
Copyrighted characters are typically not considered for origins. Main reasons being that they are strongly opinion based and that they often have a deeper, older basis (eg two separate characters based on one core thing, rather one character based on another). It's highly preferred not to include copyrighted characters unless its 100% confirmed by official word or there is no other basis whatsoever. Crystal Talian 17:54, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
Fully Evolved Alola Starters and Mallow leaked
Can someone who can edit this page add this to the Trivia section?

- Copyrighted characters can't be used as possible origins, unless it is specifically said to be based off a character.--ForceFire 03:58, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
Using Incineroar image
Would it be alright if I use the official artwork of Incineroar for a Wikipedia page?Robbie (talk) 19:50, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
