Talk:King's Shield (move)
Question
When it says "Using King's Shield, Protect, Detect, Endure, or Spiky Shield consecutively decreases the chance of success to 50%", does it mean that if you follow any one of the listed moves after any other of the listed moves, or just that the "consecutive use of this move results in a 50% decrease in chance of success" rule applies to each one? For example, if I were to, say, have a Pokémon use Protect and then have it use Spiky Shield, would Spiky Shield (right when I used it) have a 50% lower chance of working than Protect (right when I used it)?Mangaman13 (talk) 20:51, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Shield Forme
This page doesn't actually mention anywhere that this move changes Aegislash back to its shield forme. Shouldn't it, just for completeness? Cjmorgs (talk) 16:50, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
How do we actually acquire this move apart from going to the reminder?
How do we actually acquire this move apart from going to the reminder? -Iosue (talk) 13:01, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
Right or wrong are subjective terms. The fact that readers are required to spend extra efford to figure this out, as a matter of this move's rarity, makes me wonder if certain lines or explanations are beneficial to the article. -Iosue (talk) 13:30, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- I can sympathize with that concern. I don't think an explanation should go on this specific page, though, I think it would probably work better in the table. Alternatively, if it were explained on the linked "leveling up" page, that might be okay, but it doesn't fit well anywhere in the current structure... Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:15, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
If structure seems like a problem, there is always this Trivia to put into. -Iosue (talk) 04:25, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
- I'm gonna poke some of the other admins about including a link to the move relearner at the bottom of the tables --Spriteit (talk) 12:57, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
Affected by Snatch?
It says that King's Shield is affected by Snatch, but it hasn't been, in my own experience. Could this get some research to confirm? In a double battle, my Mega Banette used Snatch, followed by an opposing Snorlax using Protect, the opposing Aegislash using King's Shield (successfully, without being snatched), and my Azumaril using a physical attack against the Aegislash and getting its attack lowered. Affected by King's Rock vs King's Shield?
I've seen on a ton of pages "Affected by King's Rock" or "Not affected by King's Rock". The King's Rock is just a held item that sometimes causes flinching, but all the other things listed as "Affected by" or "Not affected by" are moves (Magic Coat, Protect, Snatch, etc). So ever since I found out about this move, I've been wondering: should all those "affected by" or "not affected by" King's Rock actually mean King's Shield? TheDoctorPotter (talk) 17:12, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- It's not an error. It's just that King's Rock can only cause flinching for some moves in some generations. (I think both King's Rock's and King Shield's effects are explained adequately at their pages.) Nescientist (talk) 12:25, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
