Talk:Lake of Rage
Wild Pokémon
Shouldn't the link to Gyarados (Pokémon) beside Red Gyarados's pic be towards the Red Gyarados file? Sean... Lord of the Shadows!!! 05:47, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- That'd require witchcraft involving the template. We need to link that to a page with (Pokémon) at the end of the title. Besides, it says "the Gyarados is always shiny", and there are other links to Red Gyarados on the page, so it's not that big a deal. --Marton(I'm Jewish)imos 06:14, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
Wait...
Wouldn't there be different ratios before and after capture of Red Gyarados? ht14 02:16, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- Wild Pokémon ratios? Not that I know of. You can still catch wild Gyarados easily after the signal is shut off. IIMarckus 02:20, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
In the manga
Wouldn't that be in Pokemon Special? There are after all other mangas. I would think a distinction in the title would be nice. Keeping in mind I'm not 100% sure it's Pokemon Special because I haven't read those... either way it should be more specific! [[Derian]] 17:16, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Only place without a Pokémon Center?
In the Trivia section: "Lake of Rage is the only location where the player can fly to that doesn't have a Pokémon Center" - unsigned comment from DontExplain (talk • contribs)
Isn't this wrong? New Bark Town doesn't have a Pokémon center, and that is in Johto too. I thought I'd clarify before I edited it.
- Thanks for pointing that out. The next time you see something that is obviously wrong, remove it and leave your explanation in the edit summary box. I've removed this mistake for now. —darklordtrom 07:23, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, it was me and I am very sorry. It will not happen again. Tyagohexagon 13:16, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- No big deal. Doublecheck your facts next time. —darklordtrom 13:30, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Interesting discovery
Is it just me or does the Red Gyarados respawn? Either as a new one like Lapras or is it just programmed to return if you accidentally KO it? --Avara 06:55, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Levels of Magikarp
I just encountered a wild Magikarp while surfing, level 50, in the lake of rage. I caught it, too. I didn't think it was possible, so I thought I'd share this information and ask if anyone had any similar experiences. Is it just ridiculously rare, or what? Podeki 15:52, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
Fishing Guru and big Magikarp
So, apparently there is a Fishing Guru here who evaluates the size of Magikarp in Gen II. Do we know how he does this? In Gen III and IV, size is determined by the Pokémon's PID. Presumably, it would be determined by the Pokémon's IVs in Gen II (based on how similar things are determined in those games), but if so, does anyone know how this is done? - unsigned comment from SnorlaxMonster (talk • contribs)
- Looks like here: https://github.com/pret/pokecrystal/blob/master/battle/magikarp_length.asm (same as is here it looks like? odd). Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:14, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
Possible Crystal Item Change
I'm playing through Crystal, and found an item in the Cut path that doesn't seem to be listed: an Elixer, where the page says it should have a Max Ether. I'd update the list, but I'm not sure if Max Ether is completely wrong, or if that's what the item might have originally been in Gold and Silver. Anyone happen to have insight on this? --M4n3ctr1c (talk) 10:24, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Nice catch, it is indeed an Elixer in Crystal instead. A rather arbitrary change, since none of the other items are changed between GS and C.
