Leech Seed against Ash's Turtwig

"Leech Seed will not work against grass types."

"Ash's Turtwig getting its energy sucked from it because of Gardenia's Turtwig's Leech Seed."

Isn't Turtwig a Grass-type Pokémon?

That's because of Anime physics. Netto-kun Talk 13:26, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Leech Seed and Big Root

Does Big Root double the HP restored by Leech Seed? If so, under what circumstances? Yenreb 02:17, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

I would think not, because Big Root just restores HP equal to the amount of damage dealt, which Leech Seed already does. It's just a small amount. Derian 15:56, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Leech Seed with Toxic?

I've tested the "deadly" combination on Pokemon Blue and it seems to work right...

But I've just tried testing it again and again on Fire Red and it does NOT seem to boost the effectiveness of Leech Seed, OR of Toxic. Has anyone else tested it, and seen this result?

~To test, I calculated the number of turns and amount of damage sustained IF leech seed added an effect, and if it didn't. I tried multiple times and kept getting the same results - it did not appear to have ANY effect. I can't do player-vs-player tests (using an emulator, since my game cartridge fried forever-ago) ... I'd appreciate it if someone would do a 2 pokemon battle and compare HP (in actual numbers) as opposed to the screen-shots of the health bar of a Magikarp or Ratatta~

They fixed it for Generation II. In Generation I, you could indeed unleash such a deadly combo. However, such a deadly combo probably caught the attention of the developers, and they managed to reprogram things so that the combo was no longer possible. --Shiningpikablu252 02:21, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Question

So from Generation III on, the healing effects of Leech Seed are not passed on when the original User of the move is knocked out? KyuremsIceBlade (talk) 22:09, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

Unique Miss Text

So, unless I'm mistaken, Leech Seed is the only move where, if it misses, the text uses the word "evaded" rather than the words "missed" or "avoided", even in older generations. Has there ever been a clearly defined reason for this difference? Schiffy (Speak to me|What I've done) 20:25, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

The message "evaded the attack"

When Leech Seed missed in Gen 1-4, the messages says "[Enemy] evaded the attack". Did the message change in Gen 5 to say "[Enemy] avoided the attack" or was that in Gen 6 instead? TogekissFan4956 (talk) 15:13, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
