A question about Mirror Coat
What damage does it double? For example, if a move does 4X on the opponent using mirror coat, (for example magical leaf on a Corsola) would the move double that damage, or the damage the move would have done if it wasn't for the weakness? I'm pretty curious, and I think it will be worthy to note in the article what damage it doubles. TheBlazikenMaster 12:58, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
It does double the damage that the user takes. So, for example, if a Corsola uses Mirror Coat after being hit by a Special Grass-type attack (like Grass Knot), it will do twice the damage that the Corsola takes from Grass Knot (which would make it 8X the regular damage). Type question
It says here that Mirror Coat deals Psychic-type damage, but is unaffected by type match-ups, does this extend to the Dark-type's immunity to Psychic-type attacks or not? As I recall, Counter used to be unable to attack Ghosts but now can as of Generation IV. (I may be mistaken though.) Mirror Coat Mechanics Change with Gen 6?
I was battling in Friend Safari, my Sneasel vs. a Wobbuffet, when the the Wobbuffet used Mirror Coat. Instead of the normal message of "But it failed" because I didn't use a special move, the game instead said "It had no effect" like psychic moves have on dark type pokemon. I'm curious if this is a new unexplored mechanic, the fact that Magic Coat no longer effects dark types, or if it has to somehow do with the pokemon Wobbuffet. --Miolu (talk) 03:57, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
