Talk:Odd Egg
Egg Cycles
I'm using the coin trick to hatch the Odd Egg while I do other things, and soft resetting until I get a shiny. I've been timing it, and noticed that it took me the same amount of time to hatch Igglybuff (normally 10 egg cycles) as Tyrogue (normally 25 egg cycles). Is it possible that all Odd Egg outcomes are set to 10 egg cycles, regardless of what's usual for their species? It would make sense from a game design standpoint, preserving the surprise at all. Has anyone checked the game's code for this? Note that I'm playing the English version of Crystal on the 3DS, if that makes any difference. -- Umbee (talk) 19:40, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
- While the "Happiness" value is predefined to be 20 for all Odd Eggs, that value is actually used as the Egg cycle counter for Eggs. The happiness of the hatched mon is eventually set to 120 ($78), as is the case for any other Egg. Nescientist (talk) 20:07, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
Edit summary source
In this edit summary, I linked to a UPC page, which is not longer available (and not found in the Wayback Machine at that URL). Instead, you can find it in the Wayback Machine at its original URL. Adding this here mostly for my own benefit in the future, but I hope it is useful to other people too. --SnorlaxMonster 14:38, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
