I feel like they are pretty separate concepts, though admittedly similar. I would argue that most of the dimensions still "exist" within the same universe as the Pokémon universe, just on a different plane. Landfish7 01:54, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Distinguishing between "dimension" and "alternate universe" is a science fiction. These can be used interchangeably by Pokémon media and we're not sure how it works in the japanese language.--Rocket Grunt 12:12, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Alternate versions

Can we not say that each game in a pair takes place in an alternate universe within the multiverse? They cannot be the same universe due to the differences, as shown by a few of the entries on this page, but the fact that you can trade with opposite version games would mean they were in the same multiverse.
