Cleanup

Hmm... I personally think this could be cleaned up. Anyone willing to do it? TTEchidna 02:45, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually I wanted proof first. I don't want all this comotion like the FAKE Glatra glitchPokeManiac102 02:46, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
It's... not like Glatra. Go look up Pomeg Glitch on Youtube and there's probably bucketloads of proof there. Tina δ 02:47, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
So it does exist, and it's a bit popular. It should be cleaned up. I guess I'll tryPokeManiac102 02:49, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Should we remove the PERFORMING THE GLITCH part?PokeManiac102 02:59, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Probably just sum it up, such as 'When a Pokémon has more than 10 HP EVs, get it to 1 HP and use a Pomeg Berry on it' but that's just off the top of my head /: Tina δ 03:01, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
I FINISHED!PokeManiac102 04:00, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, the article says the Pomeg Berry lowers HP by 2, but I did some tests and it's not always like that. Sometimes the HP are lowered by 1 instead. --HackMew 13:40, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Evolve

If you evolve the egg with the Pomeg Glitch, does it stay evolved when the egg hatches? --Shiny Noctowl 00:43, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, a Pokémon will remain evolved when the egg hatches. It even drops back to level 5 while keeping the attacks and evolution form; this is the main reason why the Dragonite handed out at a recent event is actually nothing special. This can also create combinations that would be considered impossibly low without usage of this glitch, such as a level 5 Electivire (raise Elekid egg to level 30 and evolve, Pal Park the ensuing Electabuzz, then trade it while holding the correct item) or a level 6 Magnezone (raise Magnemite egg to level 30 and evolve, Pal Park the ensuing Magneton, then level it up one level in the area of Mt. Coronet). --Shiningpikablu252 02:51, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

In Pokémon Blue

I have experienced a similar glitch in Pokemon Blue where my MissingNo. got pixel blocks as hit point numbers, and a 1-hit KO took 30 minutes to kill it. What happened there?-Glitchunter

looking at an egg's stats

While battling with an egg, can you look at its stats, ability, nature, etc. in the menu?

  • No you cannot reach it from the menu since it appears the Egg's Pokémon info. ATEMVEGETA 21:42, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Eggs

Wow, maybe this glitch could be used to determine an Egg's true identity! SilverCharmeleon 02:40, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Can you send them to Pal Park?

Can you send a Pomeg'd Pokémon with "?35" HP to Pal Park? - unsigned comment from Spriteless (talkcontribs)

No. Pokémon have to be in the PC to be Pal Park'd, and the PC resets HP to maximum. TTEchidna 01:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

dp

i managed to pomeg a lv.47 lapras in pearl successfully, but it says emerald exlusive.Laxafett25 April 2009(UTC)

Proof plz? TTEchidna 08:47, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Appendix

Since this article seems like more of a guide than an actual, factual article, I propose it should be moved into the Appendix: namespace. Therefor I am holding a vote here to see what the users think. Thanks, --RexRacer 00:47, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Move it

Don't move it

  • THE TROM — with cleanup, this article could be factual. It just needs a rewrite - the whole "one must" thing has gotta go.
  • Needs a rewrite. Just because it "looks like" a guide doesn't mean we dump the crap in Appendix and forget about it. I'll take charge. TTEchidna 01:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
  • What they said. R.A. Hunter B. 01:05, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
  • It's a glitch, shouldn't it stay as a glitch article? ~Toastypk - Loom. 01:09, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

HEY

Echy is currently revamping it. I'll unprotect it when I finish. Which should be tomorrow evening. K? TTEchidna 08:15, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

In Emerald only? I don't think so.

First of all, I didn't try it myself but I found a video on YouTube that proves that this glitch also works in Ruby and Sapphire, not just Emerald. At least, effects of the glitch occur in RS. Pokemon lover 09:47, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes and no. As the video description says: "Take the Pokémon affected by the Pomeg Berry Glitch in Pokémon Emerald, transfer it to Pokémon Ruby, and watch what happens." The glitch can't be reproduced as you do in Emerald, simply because the Pomeg Berry works differently in R/S. If you tried using it, you would get the usual message "DAD's advice... PlayerName, there's a time and place for everything!". Even the description is different, indeed. While the Emerald one is "Makes a Pokémon friendly but lowers base HP.", in R/S it's "PokéBlock ingredient. Plant in loamy soil to grow POMEG." --HackMew 13:33, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Sending out ??????????

The page used to say that one could send out ?????????? through this glitch. Now it has been changed to "A normal Pokémon will be sent out with 0 HP and will act like ??????????.". Which is correct? Blueapple128 18:45, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Two things

Hey, two things: 1. I still don't understand the egg battle as well as trade glitch. Does it evolve when traded if it is somehow effected by the pomeg, or what? 2. I think we should stop using youtube videos, due to the fact that Chinese users, and others in China, will be unable to view them. ----Desukaan563's userpage has a Value Formula to measure Pokémon worth (talk) 08:20, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

We don't remove features for everyone because some people can't see them. If we did, there would be no roundy corners because most IE users can't see them. The trade glitch occurs when you trade a Pokémon that evolves by trading while it is in an Egg. The Pomeg glitch does not cause it, but it makes it possible, because you can evolve Pokémon while they are still inside eggs, meaning that you can get a Kadabra in an egg. The egg battle is caused by having only a fainted Pokémon and an egg in the party; I have made it work on Emerald, but my game just freezes when I try it on Diamond. --SnorlaxMonster 11:08, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Which GenIV games...

...does this work for? I think it should be mentioned. --TruePikachu 03:18, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

All of them. OwnageMuch 22:37, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

But you can't pomeg an egg, you can battle with a fainted Pokémon, but the egg part is impossible, at least I haven't been able to do it, and I've tried it lots of times... YukitoOoO 18:01, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Generation V

Does this work in Generation V? --SnorlaxMonster 04:23, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

NO.- unsigned comment from ‎Dank101 (talkcontribs)

Egg Battling

The page says that an egg you've battled with using the Pomeg glitch will hatch at level 5, even if you've gained levels with it or even evolved it while it was still in the egg. My question is this: Wouldn't it hatch at level 1 in Generation IV games? --AndyPKMN (talk) 20:23, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

You can't train an egg with the Pomeg glitch in Gen IV. OwnageMuch 23:31, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
Then that should be mentioned on the page, because it currently says no such thing. --AndyPKMN (talk) 23:58, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

So when preforming the egg battle glitch in gen III i've noticed that after i defeat the wild pokemon i'm fighting with the egg i white out. is this normal or am i doing something wrong. if you do white out, it should be mentioned on the page. Mr. Pokemaniac (talk) 20:57, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Why isn't it in a video format?

One of the videos here is linked instead of video format. Why won't somebody change it for quick access? (Sorry, dunno how to make video format stuff like that) --Princesska28 04:41, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Done. --SnorlaxMonster 04:52, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

False Swipe

If a Pokémon with 0 HP was attacked by False Swipe, what would happen? --Abcboy (talk) 10:22, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Substructure shuffling, etc

The latest fun with the Pomeg glitch involves corrupting boxed Pokemon to various degrees, allowing for things like changing which substructure is read as what. There's more scattered throughout here; the article should probably be updated by someone who actually understands this stuff. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 23:22, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Um..alright

Somebody should really make/find a better video for gen IV. I can't see anything on the available one. Maybe once I get far enough in my Heart Gold ROM, which could take a very long time, I could make a somewhat better video myself with some dumb hypercam. But isn't there somebody who's better equipped to make a high-quality video of the glitch on here? Velocityraptor (talk) 18:06, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Gen 3 behaviour + GEN V

Due to a YouTube comment I decided to check if in Gen 3, the Pomeg Berry acted by depleting 10 EVs each time or lowering straight to 100 EVs like the article said. With A-Save I found that a Pokemon with 255 EVs went down to 245 EVs so Gen 3's behaviour works like Gen 5's. Will edit

EDIT: A Pomeg glitched Pokemon can't be transferred through generations. Pokemon have to be in the Box, which resets HP to maximum. --Flametix (talk) 23:51, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Over level 100?

In generation 1, If a pokemon with a level over 100 is obtained through glitches (e.g. using the old man glitch) and then it gains XP sending it back to level 100, if the pokemon had a low enough health, will the HP go into negatives and underflow up to 65 thousand? Does it go up to 255? Or does the pokemon just faint? - unsigned comment from Aaay (talkcontribs)

Past slot 6

In Generation I, by gamesharking to allow access beyond slot 6, you can find a lot of interesting things: pokemon with glitchy nicknames, pokemon with -- attacks, and even pokemon with a positive amount of HP and functional moves that have PP. Gamesharking (or item underflow glitching) for extended item menus also reveals interesting things. Are there any pokemon which appear past slot 6 in Gen III whose data is actually other data (like the player's position)? Is it possible to obtain variants of ?????????? by swapping them in from beyond slot 6? Aaay (talk) 17:50, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Also, if data past slot 6 extends into other data, is it possible to go really far down the pokemon list past slot 255 and make the game try to load data that is literally not there (make it point to somewhere past the end of the data on the console)? Aaay (talk) 17:50, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
