Well, no, you're obviously allowed to attach it to a Pokémon!

Anyway, how the card works is: If the card hits the discard pile from an area that's considered "in play" (that is, the Pokémon that are Active and Benched, as well as any Stadium, Supporter, and certain other Trainer cards), the Energy card returns to your hand. Now, if you were to pitch the Energy right from your hand, it would stay in the discard since the hand is not "in play"...--Shiningpikablu252 22:26, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
