Early name

Wasn't Snubbull originally intended to be named Snubble in the English versions? That's how the early First Movie-related materials list is name. My First Movie Comic Book even lists Snubbull's name as such! --Maxim 14:27, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

|heartgolddex=Although it looks frightening, it is actually kind and affectionate. It is very popular among women.

Origin

Snubbull also seems like it's based on the concept of dog shows, hence the more flamboyant elements of its design, and it's association with PokeFans. Should this be added to the origins section?Green Zubat (talk) 07:49, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Origin - pampered pets

Its been bothering me for a while that this wasn't mentioned, but I didn't know how to phrase it - and one of the older talk sections seems to agree with me so I think I'm on to something. Snubbull is probably based on pampered pets adored by rich white women that call their pugs schnookums or whatever, there's kind of a stereotype in ugly dogs being dressed and beautified because their owners think they're cute. Pokedex entries between the two evos mention that its incredibly cowardly despite its constant growling, like a chihuahua, which are similarly aggressive but wimpy, and also ugly but thought cute, and also that the two are popular among women, who are the most common owners of pugs and chihuahuas. The other talk section suggested show dogs, which I think is a very close connection to my own point - pugs and chihuahuas are dressed up and shown off to be admired despite not really looking the part, and I think snubble especially is meant to be a take at those ironies. I daresay the cu sith connection is entirely coincidence since being a "fairy dog" is basically the only thing they have in common. Pallukun (talk) 01:20, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
