Talk:Sticker
Name
Is it necessary to call them Poké Ball Seals? I don't remember them being referred to as anything but just Seals in the games. And really, what other seals are there? (Seel and Spheal don't count.) --Pie ~♪♫ 20:34, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ding-dang-done. Should it be moved to Seal, though? After all, that's what we did with Plates. --TTEchidna 21:02, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Isn't "Seal" a bad interpretation of the word シール, which means sticker? --Maxim 09:30, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Plus, in Prima's guide they're mentioned as stickers. --Empoleon ''Bono'' Bonaparte 13:40, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Looking at all the definition of "seal", I don't see why it doesn't work. Especially since that Japanese word was quite possibly derived from our English word. --Pie ~♪♫ 15:33, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- While it's nigh pointless to even mention, for the record, シール is quite literally "seal." Silmina 17:49, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Images
Wouldn't it be a good idea if we could get some screen shots of what the differnt seals look like and do? Personaly i've been looking for such a list and been unable to find one. -- Ai_Hikari
- Yeah, I just came here to ask that same question. I think we could improve the article with some shots. Only I don't know how to get them onto the web. Dialgarules 02:33, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Contest Stub
Why isn't this listed (along with Ball Capsules) in the contest stub?
--HoennMaster 10:25 PM (CST) April 14, 2008
- Probably due to the video game applications of those items being used only for battle, not in contests. If seals and ball capsules went by the game trends in the anime, it would be Ash overusing them and not Dawn. --Shiningpikablu252 03:28, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Trivia?
Would it be worth mentioning in trivia that you can conceivably have obscenities in a Pokémon game by using the Unown letter seals?

Twinkle, Burst, and Liquid Seals
So while playing around with Action Replay, I found three other Seals called Twinkle, Burst, and Liquid. But they aren't mentioned anywhere on this page and I'm not sure where to put them. I only found these seals in HeartGold and SoulSilver. Not certain if there is a legal way of obtaining them, perhaps the little girl gives them out? I'm also not sure of their whereabouts in DPPt.
They don't have ABC variants like some of the seals and they are placed after the alphabet seals. The Liquid Seal sends out water drops, the Burst Seal makes exploding spheres, and The Twinkle Seal causes sparkly effects. --ケンジのガール 10:37, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- what were the codes? I could try for screenshots, article needs them anyway - unsigned comment from Icleario (talk • contribs) 16:48, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- bump still need codes and screengrab - unsigned comment from Asdfasdf7 (talk • contribs)
- Codes are not in any way necessary. Nor are any "screengrabs"; we already have all the icons. This page is pretty well complete. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:19, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- then why even mention them since they aren't in game? - unsigned comment from Asdfasdf7 (talk • contribs)
- They are in the games, they just aren't obtainable. You can just as well ask why we mention Missingno. (although it's admittedly pretty famous on its own) or other glitch Pokémon, or a boatload of unobtainable items. In short, this wiki generally likes to be thorough, so it's something we do include, but they are unobtainable, and this wiki is definitely not concerned with cheat codes.

well one reason i ask is I actually tried to add them(seals 78,79,80) and got pink crystal...there was doubt they were even in platinum or exclusive to gold and it was never clarified. so either i did it wrong or they aren't in platinum and the article should note that. also without screenshots...has anybody actually seen these seals except the one guy who added them?Asdfasdf7 (talk)
- Dude, look at the article. There's pictures of the seals there. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 13:30, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- Their text is apparently in the code for both Diamond and Platinum. I have no idea how to get them in-game, so I can't help you there, but, especially when there are images for them on this page, I'm going to have to be skeptical of any claims they don't exist.
- (Also, Asdfasdf7, by convention, you should indent your response one more than the person above you. Indents are made by typing ":" at the beginning of your comment, as you may see by looking at all the previous comments. Thanks.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:41, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- so have any of you actually seen them? because seriously the guy who added them said " I only found these seals in HeartGold and SoulSilver" and you just now reply with "Their text is apparently in the code for both Diamond and Platinum" so was wondering about the source. not saying you're wrong just you cited no information and wanted to make sure you hadn't just misread the other guy's post or something because thats new information Asdfasdf7 (talk)
- I can't really help that I haven't seen them; investigating that just isn't something I'm willing to jump into right now. If it bothers you that much, you'll probably have to find someone who's familiar with modifying Gen IV games.
