How exactly are these variations? Pikachu Bros. (talk) 13:29, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- They are status moves that require the user to faint to take effect. Berrenta (talk) 14:24, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

- Destiny Bond and Grudge, sure, those make sense as variations of each other. But Lunar Dance, Healing Wish, and Memento all CAUSE the user to faint... while Destiny Bond and Grudge don't, relying on the opponent knocking the user out before they do anything. Lunar Dance, Healing Wish, and Memento really have more in common with Explosion/Selfdestruct ("user faints as soon as the move is used, then something else happens"--either damage, healing, or stat lowering depending on the move) than with Destiny Bond/Grudge... That said, I still wouldn't count them as variations of Explosion/Selfdestruct, since Memento at least--not sure about the others--apparently *doesn't* cause the user to faint if the move fails due to Protect or something, while Explosion/Selfdestruct do. I guess if Lunar Dance/Healing Wish are the same way (failing entirely if there's no possible target) then they should be re-labeled as variations of Memento, rather than slapped in here with Destiny Bond and Grudge for no good reason.
