From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
Happa (Japanese: ハッパ Happa) is a Grass-type Pokémon from the 1997 Spaceworld demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver.
It is presumed to evolve into Hanamogura at an unknown level, which evolves into Hanaryū starting at level 32.
Along with Honōguma and Kurusu, Happa is one of three first partner Pokémon available at the beginning of the 1997 Spaceworld demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver. Unlike other Pokémon games, the first partner Pokémon is chosen randomly when the demo is started.
It is present in the final version of the game as Chikorita.
Biology
Happa is a small, pale green Pokémon with a darker necklace of buds. It has a large head in proportion to the rest of its body with large eyes. It has four short legs with a single nailed toe on each and a small tail. Its most distinguishing feature is the large leaf on the top of its head.
Happa appears identical to how it does in the final version of the game.

Trivia
- Happa, like other early-game Pokémon in the demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver, is missing evolution data for its first evolution, likely to prevent Spaceworld attendees from seeing certain unrevealed evolved forms.
Origin
Happa has similarities to sauropods. Its shape and appearance also alludes to that of a pear, or a Belgian endive, a type of chicory.
Name origin
Happa comes from 葉っぱ happa (leaf).
