Some Pokémon display Battle Traits related to the Game mechanics that cannot be transferable or negated by any means, usually as an exception of said mechanics.

In the side games
Mystery Dungeon Series
- Shedinja's standard A-button tackle will do one HP damage.
- In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, foe Shedinja always has a maximum of 5 HP, whereas in Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, foe Shedinja always has a maximum of 10 HP. However, as a team member, Shedinja's HP is not capped.
- Certain Pokémon are able to travel on special tiles without the aid of IQ skills or the effect of items, such as Magnezone passing through water tiles and Darkrai being able to move through walls.
- A Transformed Pokémon retains the tile mobility from its original form.
- Speed Forme Deoxys and foe Kecleon naturally have double Travel Speed.
- In Gates to Infinity, Kecleon is the only unrecruitable Pokémon inside a Dungeon. Friend Gifts will not work on Kecleon, despite it being an unevolved Pokémon.
In the TCG
In the Pokémon Trading Card Game during Generation IV, Arceus and Arceus LV.X cards had a special rule that allowed the player to have more than four copies of these cards in their deck.
