Synopsis

This synopsis only covers this particular portion of the sketch.

The Bloopers! host introduces this skit as a "rare blooper" from the Pokémon anime. Pikachu and Squirtle are having a conversation in Pokémon speak. Eventually, Squirtle breaks custom and starts speaking with profanity-riddled dialogue in human tongue, claiming the Pokémon speech makes no sense at all. Pikachu asks "Earl" to say the line or he'll get the gas, to which Squirtle asks the kids to "go read a book or something".

Trivia

Behind the Bleeps

Two words said by Squirtle were bleeped out in this skit. Here's what each bleep obscured:

  • First bleep: F*ck
  • Second bleep: Sh*t

Goofs

  • The grass behind Squirtle is moving a tiny bit.
  • Pikachu calling Squirtle "Earl" doesn't appear to fit. To date, there has only been one actual Earl in the entire Pokémon franchise--Earl Dervish from Earl's Pokémon Academy. It's possible they may not have known whom Squirtle's voice actor is, but it may have just been put in as a joke.
