The Bloodmoon Beast (Japanese: 赫月 Akatsuki), is a species of Ursaluna that first debuted in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's The Teal Mask expansion. This Ursaluna is notably different from others in the way that it has drastically changed appearance that isn't caused by a form change or from evolution.

Character profile
This Ursaluna is very old, having used to live in the Hisui region a long time ago until it drifted across the seas and arrived at Kitakami, where it made residence in the land's Timeless Woods. It gained special powers due to adapting to the environment of Kitakami. It is highly alert and rarely makes itself seen, but it tends to appear during foggy nights. The Bloodmoon Beast gets its name from the giant red circular patch on its forehead, which is typically yellow, like that of a full moon, on other Ursaluna. The Bloodmoon Beast can see in the dark with its left eye. Like other Ursaluna, its covered in iron-hard mud that it uses to protect itself as armor.
Appearance
The Bloodmoon Beast resembles that of other Ursaluna, however it stands on all twos, giving it an extra foot in height; has lighter fur, and a different pattern of mud that is chipped off at the hands and covering half of its face. The mud covering its face is on the left side, containing a darkened eye with a green pupil that allows for it to see in the dark. The form difference is simply called Bloodmoon after its name.
Background
Ursaluna originally came from the Hisui region. It was seemingly a normal Ursaluna that had drifted across the sea and had somehow made its way into the Land of Kitakami, a region found eastern of the Paldea region. In Kitakami, it had eventually made its home in the Timeless Woods, a location found northeast of Oni Mountain, where it had survived the harsh, new environment and living a long lifespan. In the process, Ursaluna had changed due to its new environment, becoming a new form called Bloodmoon Ursaluna. This change not only affected its looks, but also its powers and abilities as well. Ursaluna's shining red moon had giving it's name of the Bloodmoon Beast by the people in Mossui Town.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
The Teal Mask
In The Teal Mask, a photographer, by the name of Perrin, traveled to Kitakami wishing to take a photo of the Bloodmoon Beast after she hears of rumors about the Pokémon. She asks the player while they are on their school trip there in Mossui Town if they can help her with her task. Once they manage to catch at least 150 of Kitakami's Pokémon and defeat her in a Pokémon battle, both travel to the Timeless Woods. After the player takes pictures of the local Pokémon, Perrin lays down some information on the Pokémon and that many of them seem to come out on foggy nights. After having one Pokémon left to keep track of, Ursaluna, they wait for the fog to deepen, and prepare for the Pokémon's ferocity. The Bloodmoon Beast makes its appearance and after a brief stare, Perrin accidentally scares it with her camera's flash and the player takes it head on in battle, similar to that of a battle with a [Titan Pokémon]]. After defeat, the player then captures it.
Moves
After the player has taken pictures of ten out of the fifteen different Pokémon species located around the foggy woods, they and Perrin will be able to approach and battle Bloodmoon Ursaluna, where it will have five times the standard amount of HP. After it is defeated, the player will be required to catch it, which is guaranteed regardless of the type of Poké Ball used.
It is coded to never be Shiny.
