Welcome
Welcome to Bulbapedia, Chocolate!
As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:
- For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
- The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
- The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
- The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
- The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
- On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
- The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
- If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
- A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
- If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Chocolate/Archive 2/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
- A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!PokeManiac102 01:40, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page Comments
Please don't erase talk page comments for no reason. Trust me, you do NOT want to end up like Big Johnno, who got into an edit war with a sysop over comments the former had erased and was trying to keep erased. That user ended up blocked and subsequently had every erased comment restored. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:53, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Please, try to refrain from editing talk pages for a little while. As you can see from that template I subst'd, deleting comments is against the rules. Like I keep saying, just chill out for a while. I can deal with Kuki. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:53, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Can someone change my user name?
My current user name is getting boring, so I'd like a new one, if it's possible on this site (I know it is on Wikipedia but I'm not sure about here). If it is possible, I'd like my user name to be changed to "Pokémon1994". Baby G 00:16, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- Please keep in mind that we discourage frequent username changing, especially ones that are unmotivated. (Tavisource was renamed since the original username had a typo; Optimatum was renamed to avoid a connection with a vandal; DCM's original username was unwieldy.) - 振霖T 17:14, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Draco Meteor
It's been proven time and time again that Mew cannot learn Draco Meteor. If it could learn Draco Meteor from the tutor, then it would also be able to learn Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon from move tutors both at Cape Brink and on Route 228, tutors Mew are incompatible with. All four of those moves never corresponded to TMs, which Mew has universal compatability with, hence why Mew can be and are incompatible with those tutors.
Please don't change the Draco Meteor, Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, or Hydro Cannon pages to add false information again. Adding false information is frowned upon here, and it's a blockable offense. --Shiningpikablu252 02:40, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Have you actually tried to make it learn Draco Meteor? It can learn it. Baby G 20:19, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- I jsut tried.it cannot learn itDCM
Wait!
The moves shouldn't be in alphebetical order, they are in order of first time used! Please don't change anymore. MoldyOrange 01:51, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- Is there a quote in the Manual of Style that says that? Baby G 01:55, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Why I removed Scyther's back sprite trivia
Because I found out that most of the Pokémon from FRLG have different back sprites from their RSE counterparts. Scyther isn't special at all. Bulbapedia just didn't post the FRLG back sprites. --ケンジのガール 21:36, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- If that was the reason, you should've said that in your edit summary so people wouldn't have to ask you why. Baby G 21:37, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Move Compatability
Each facet of a Pokémon's move compatability list is an entirely separate entity. The fact that a Pokémon learns a TM move by levelling up does NOT guarantee that it can learn it through the TM. Please don't go inserting how Burmy can learn Protect through TM17 and Hidden Power through TM10 on the sole basis that it gets them by level. Burmy can't learn ANY moves through TMs, and the fact that it gets two TM moves by level does not change that.
By your reasoning, Wynaut and Wobbuffet are compatible with TM20 (Safeguard) in Generation III and Generation IV. They're not. By your reasoning, Dratini and Dragonair are compatible with TM15 (Hyper Beam) in all four generations. They're not in Generations I and II.
Please accept the fact that Burmy can't learn Protect and Hidden Power through TM. You're already on thin ice as it is, please stop inserting false information! --Shiningpikablu252 14:44, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Especially bcuz u can't have the same move twice w/o cheating--KukiTalk 14:46, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, once Burmy gets Tackle by level, it's possible to get the Move Deleter to remove Protect. That's the only way you can get the Move Deleter to erase Protect; it's not compatible with the Hidden Power TM, so you'll have to wait until it gets Tackle.
- It's also possible to get the Move Deleter to erase Safeguard from a wild-captured Wobbuffet or to not even teach it to a Wynaut. --Shiningpikablu252 14:53, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
here is the problem with the template
1, you didn't categorize it; 2, the lack of edits from the user is enough of a clue that they don't come here anymore; 3, what if they come back, then they would have to edit it off; 4, you aren't allowed to edit other people's pages; 5, the user would have to put the template on their page themselves, thus causing them not to be retired. Must I go on? MoldyOrange 02:26, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't know what to categorize it as.
- If they put the template on their page, people will know beforehand.
- True, but that wouldn't be a problem.
- The user could put it on themself.
- They could put it on before retiring. Baby G 02:29, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Slow down on editing the User:

I'm sorry, I guess I really wasn't paying attention to what I should have been doing. But, in order to make things clearer and to explain that both of your accounts are the same person, I suggest turning your old account's talk page from before into an archive of your new account, and making the old account's talk page a redirect to your current talk page. I think that would clear up some issues, sorry for the inconvenience. MoldyOrange 22:40, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

- I know what status conditions are, but the fact is, you did it without seeing what others think, and it does have a secondary effect and matches everything else except type and secondary effect. The Placebo Effect 18:02, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- The move variations page says "120 power, 70% accuracy, may cause status condition" under variations of Blizzard. Magma Storm doesn't cause an official status condition and is sure to have its secondary effect instead of rarely having it. Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 18:05, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Stop.
This is your final warning. Failure to comply with the limit on editing the User:
namespace will cause you to lose the ability to edit it. --Porygon-Z 21:02, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- I've only been editing it 2 times a day at most since DCM told me that I can only edit it no more than 3 times a day. Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 21:04, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- He's got a point... last I heard, the limit was three times a day. He did so on the 3rd, but hasn't reached the limit since then. --ニョロトノ666 21:10, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- I think the problem is that this page is in the userspace. My recommendation would be to move it to a subpage of the sandbox, something like
Bulbapedia:Sandbox/Signature move
, and edit it there, so people don't think you're editing your userpage. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:13, 9 September 2008 (UTC)- Okay, I have moved it. Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 21:16, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Here's the thing: the sandbox needs no subpages. Just put it in the sandbox itself and it should do fine. No need for it to have its own separate page. Also, you can avoid making so many edits by utilizing the preview button. You've got about one minute to copy and paste it to the main sandbox page before I delete the subpage. --ニョロトノ666 21:18, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- If I put it in the sandbox, won't people erase it? Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 21:19, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- They shouldn't. And if they do, we can always revert.
- Sorry, Politoed. People have used sandbox subpages a lot in he past, so I figured it would be OK. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:20, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

So, I can put it into the sandbox and nobody is allowed to erase it except for me? Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 21:22, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- You can erase it if you want. Many users just kee there junk there though.--DCM((TalkContributions))
- Ah, but I can't find any sandbox subpages that haven't been deleted. I'm simply going to move it back to the userspace and you can use the preview button. --ニョロトノ666 21:25, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- No need; I'll simply update it in the sandbox. Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 21:26, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you're worried about losing work, try this: copy the code into a word document and work on it there. Then, when you're ready, copy it back into the sandbox and preview it; if you need to change it, do so and save in the word document. Repeat as necessary. That way, you don't even have to do anything to the wiki until it's all ready. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:29, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Trust me.You want to do that.I made this really cool userbox with double pictures, and double phrases, but I lost it because my laptop died :( SAVE YOUR WORK!--DCM((TalkContributions))

Primeape
Hey, this is Tavisource. See, I'm the one creating alt. sprites for certain Pokemon, but I think we ran into a problem a while ago. See, when you uploaded the clearer pic of Ash's Primeape, you overwritten my alt. sprite that was named the same thing. Seeing that, people just got rid of my Primeape sprite on every page because it showed your picture instead...I have no idea why I can't revert it, but do you know what went wrong?...I want my sprite back! (cries hopelessly)...sob...sob.--☆Tavisource 23:44, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, someone on Bulbagarden Archives deleted your Primeape image, saying that it was "fan artwork" that wasn't in use, and I didn't even know about you then. However, I'm also good at making sprites. I can make a new sprite for you. What was added to the sprite? Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 00:11, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
FV deleted the sprite (reason is on the talkpage), and the championship belt was added to the sprite. Kenji-Girl uploaded the png, Baby G uploaded JPG--KukiTalk 16:06, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Dude.
This is stupid. Really. When things like this happen, the best thing you can do is just accept you're wrong and move on. I'm not gonna say you should come back, especially not if you don't want to, but... yeah. This is stupid. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 06:32, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oh great. Now you're against me too? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 20:04, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- What is with everyone thinking we're against them? Did I go saying "I'm gonna quit Bulbapedia because Zhen and Pie said my template sucked"? TTEchidna 22:18, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, Martonimos said that this situation was stupid, which I take offence to. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 22:22, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- And here I was worried about being flamed for being the only one to come to your defense again. Well, it's no skin off my back. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 22:56, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- So do you no longer like me? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 23:07, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- How much can I like or dislike someone whom I've only known in the context of edits made to a wiki? Some people here I consider friends (like, say, Moldy orange) because I've interacted enough with them to know that they're good people. You, I don't know well enough to form an opinion on.
- And in case you were confused, I wasn't saying that your situation was stupid, I was saying that leaving because of it was stupid. You had a legitimate argument; the others just had a more legitimate argument. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:16, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

- OK, you want to know what I think about you?
- Well, when you said you were leaving, I came here to try and convince you not to, didn't I? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 00:16, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

- Gallade was the first Psychic/Fighting. Medicham has the same two types (and therefore the same weaknesses) but being a Fighting/Psychic it's different. TTEchidna 22:10, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Im confused.Care to elaborate?--DCM((TalkContributions))
- Okay. Each of the seventeen types can be primary, and each of the seventeen can be secondary. When the primary and secondary are the same, according to the game, it's a single-type Pokémon. Additionally, oftentimes the primary type is more apparent by the Pokémon's design (notice how Meditite and Medicham look like Fighting-types often do, while Gallade looks like a Psychic-type). move head images
only one game-image is prefered, and the most recent one is the best one to use, which would be Platinum, a game currently only released in Japanese. The image graphics do not change when it is in a different language, only the text. MoldyOrange 01:39, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well it is really that hard to say that in your edit summary? And you haven't answered my question that I asked you before: What did I do to make you hate me? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 01:41, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- I did answer it, and I don't like repeting myself. It was impossible to show in an edit summary because you made four edits just to add that image. I had to rollback all four edits in order to get the page back to the state it was. Rollback-ing edits disables the option to add an edit summary. If you would have used the preview button and added the image in one edit, I could have used the normal undo and added an edit summary, but guess what! You did a job in four edits when it could have been done in one. MoldyOrange 01:52, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- You said that you hated me because a comment of mine was "unjust". How was it unjust, and what comment was it? And you don't have to use Rollback, you can simply view the old revision of a page and edit that version. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 01:59, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- That takes longer. And I doubt he outright hates you, he's probably just frustrated with all the crap we've had to deal with in the last couple months... TTEchidna 02:03, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it takes longer, but it allows the option of entering an edit summary. And he stated himself that he has a grudge against me. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 20:11, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
