Quotes from Masters
Hi, I've noticed you've been editing Quotes from Pokemon Masters a lot recently. I want to ask you about spaces you've been adding between different sections - such as in Clair's article before "During special log-in conversation (Morning)", "Battle interface (voice clips)", "Story Event - Family Ties", "Pokémon Center", "Special log-in conversation (generic)", etc. As far as I know, this isn't standard in the Quotes articles, so there's no need to separate sections from one another.
Also, I see that you added some Random and Log-in conversations - may I ask where did you take them from? They are correct, it's just if you are taking screenshots and copying them from the in-game conversations, it is inefficient, so you may want to leave it to me, as I'm going to upload every generic (non-event) Pokemon Center conversation to every character anyway. - Hey! Sorry, I guess that's more of a personal preference. I just felt that the text looked neater with the extra space, especially when it comes to pairs with alternate versions, so that there's more of a distinction between the different sections, and that doesn't look like a long wall of text. Again, 100% a personal preference, and I'll revise it if necessary.
- + yeah, everything I've uploaded is what I've taken from what I've seen in the game itself, so that's a relief! I'll leave that to ya then. Though, I do still have quotes from the old (and new) special story events that haven't been added yet, so I'll still add those if that's alright. Capnposey (talk) 01:44, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'd say it's better to keep text as it was, without spaces. Although you might want to contact some staff member to see staff's general opinion on it. Who knows, maybe it's what they always wanted.
- Yeah, I started doing that myself, but quickly realised it was time consuming and unreliable. So into the text files we go. As for events, I have no information about them, so keep uploading all you have. Still, I'll notify you if something pops up. Itan (talk) 02:07, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- Haha, tell me about it. Well, thanks for the pointers + good luck with your editing! Capnposey (talk) 03:01, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, one small thing I forgot to say - I've decided to change Uppercase letters which I used in Morning, Afternoon and Evening to a lowercase, so if you come across them before I do, feel free to change it (morning, afternoon, evening respectively). Also if your eye catches <Player> instead of <player> anywhere, it'd be nice as well. Not much important, so I don't check regularly, just a nice change. Good luck with your editing as well) Itan (talk) 03:40, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- I've noticed you edited Lillie's quotes to include "(Both regular and New Year's 2021)" after some of the log-in quotes. Where did that come from? From what I have, regular Lillie has three and NY2021 Lillie has three. That is a trend with later pairs being added, with three log-in quotes instead of six and first five random conversations with no additional dialogue (if spoken after). Itan (talk) 18:26, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- Or maybe I was mistaken instead. Tell me, where did you take Archie's log-in conversations (morning, afternoon and evening) from? None of my sources mention additional three (number 2, 4, 6 on the page as of now), so if you took them from the game itself and have screenshots of it, other characters could have six conversations, not just three. Interesting discovery. Itan (talk) 14:26, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for the super late reply. Life 'n stuff. Not sure if these are totally relevant anymore, but with Lillie's quotes, I felt it was redundant to write the log-in conversations twice for her regular and alt if they're just the exact same quote, and thought it'd be easier to just say that it's the same for both, like how the "regular and seasonal variants share their voice lines unless mentioned otherwise" line indicates at the top of the page that characters with seasonal alts have. In any case, I can change it back if you want.

- And with Archie, I actually had no idea that newer units only use three log-in conversations instead of the six! I actually took his quotes straight from the sound files, which I have a google drive download link if ya want it (I think it only has the sync pairs before the July 2021 update though), OR you could check out Absol-utely PM on youtube who has compiled all the voiced quotes under the Voice Actor playlist. I knew that there are some voiced quotes that go unused (for example, quotes that would've been used for new events and area information, evolution even if their Pkmn doesn't evolve), but since all six special log-in conversation quotes were used for past characters, I assumed the same would apply for him. However, I don't have any screenshots of the extra three, so, I guess all newer characters still do have six log-in conversations, but the other three just go unused in the actual game?
(resetting indent) Hey, happy to see you're back. About Lillie - text files tell me that regular Lillie and (New Year's 2021) Lillie both have three conversations, but each has three different ones. I don't know whether they decided that two conversations per pair was too much or kept second set for possible second variation of that pair... Seasonal Archie with Wishiwashi, heh. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I added all the quotes that were in the files, so you shouldn't rely on audio. Mine came from Absol-utely as well, by the way. I also used text dump from Abcboy's userpage. And those quotes you added for Archie aren't found anywhere on it, so those quotes are unused (and should be deleted from the page). By the way, if you have a Discord account, can you dm me there to speed up conversations? Rikko#5022 it is. Itan (talk) 23:24, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- (personally i'm hoping for halloween archie with dhelmise, aha) but ah, gotcha gotcha, I'll fix those up right away. and i just sent you a request at CapnPosey#9116 Capnposey (talk) 03:12, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Some hints: use the "mas" template when creating a link to a Masters character, and remember: not every new text box means the quote has to go on a new row. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:23, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
- Gotcha, thanks! Capnposey (talk) 21:56, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
- You're welcome! I think a new row of dialogue should start whenever a character either stops talking or at least makes a silent pause (without even ellipsis). --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 22:24, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
