Sprite trivia and linking
Hiya! Thanks for your interest in adding info to Pokémon species articles! However, I did want to let you know that we do not currently include sprite trivia on these pages, as these types of sprite changes are very common and usually not considered very notable, with there only being a few rare exceptions. If you're not sure, feel free to ask on the talk page of the relevant article if something may be considered notable enough to include. It's also worth noting that these sprite changes can easily be observed by readers if they just look at the sprite box, so there's not much need to specifically point out these changes in the Trivia section.
On another note, I thought I'd also inform you that, unlike some wikis, we try to link directly to articles without using redirects. So instead of linking to Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions with the text "Pokémon Gold and Silver" (which goes to a redirect) by adding [[Pokémon Gold and Silver]]
, you would instead link to the article using [[Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions|Pokémon Gold and Silver]]
, which produces a direct link to the article, but with the text you want to display i.e. Pokémon Gold and Silver. We also very commonly use link templates to make it easier to link directly to articles. In this case, you could link to it with {{game|Gold and Silver|s}}
, to produce a link to Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions with the text "Pokémon Gold and Silver". There's a full list of link templates, if you're interested in learning more of these handy templates.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to a staff member. They're here to help! Thanks and have a great day! Landfish7 05:38, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
Trivia notability & Unsourced claims
Hi, several of your recent edits were reverted because they were either trivia that didn't meet notability requirements, or because they were claims made that didn't have source material to back up said claim. Please try not to add trivia if it's not unique/notable for the given topic, and please provide a source or reference if you're going to make claims that aren't easily verified and/or common knowledge. Additionally, if you're going to make edits regarding research on a game mechanic, like how a move works, it helps if you can provide a source that backs up that mechanic works as described, or at the very least make a note on the talk page or describe what you tested in the edit summary, otherwise we can't be sure it was actually tested. - Hi again, several more of your recent edits were reverted again by other users for the exact same reason I described above. Please actually read your talk page messages and take the feedback seriously. Take the time to look at the Manual of style, and the Notability requirements, otherwise it's very likely that your edits to pages will continue to be reverted by other users because they don't meet those standards. Talk page policy
Hi again, two of your talk page edits were reverted because you were adding unnecessary comments to sections that were well over 6 months old, instead of starting a new section. This goes against the Talk page policy. Once again, please take the time to read Bulbapedia's policies and standards, or your edits that violate them will continue to be reverted by staff and other users. - As I feel this interaction can be a bit intimidating to new users, I just wanted to add on to this, also so that CloudMonarch is aware. It was talked about in the Discord on the day, the 6 month rule from talk page policy applies to inactive, finished conversations. As that page at the time had a notice template on it soliciting discussion, the conversation on the talk page should not be considered inactive as long as that template is stuck to the page, even if 6 months have passed. New input should be added under the newest heading concerning the notice template though, such as to make the discussion easier to follow. ~ 4iamking 13:36, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
Gender differences
Per the speculation policy, we do not use gender differences of Pokemon introduced or debuted before Gen IV until they are either explicitly confirmed, whether via Attract/Cute Charm or verbally, or the opposite gender variant has appeared (I.e. a female Gyarados has yet to appear, so we can't use Gyarados's gender difference - and even if it were, Lance's Gyarados has to appear again after the gender difference has been acknowledged by the anime). Thank you.--ForceFire 13:07, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
