By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Card translations

I noticed you went around and changed many of our translations to what is listed on other websites. Don't do this again, please. We at Bulbapedia put a lot of care into cross-referencing card attack names and text with other every other card that has ever happened before. For instance, ever since the Black & White expansion, no card has said "Search your discard pile" because the discard is public knowledge. They have all just mentioned Attaching things straight from there. Additionally, things like Reshiram (Emerald Break 51), the attack ぐれんのつばさ Guren no tubasa, has appeared before Ho-Oh LEGEND, and was translated as Bright Wing. It is definitely not "Hell", because just 4 sets ago, M Charizard-EX translated the word Guren to Crimson. We match attack names to other cards that have used them before in order to maintain the intent of certain gameplay mechanics. Some cards can keep Pokémon from using the same attack over again, while other Pokémon can copy an attack from other cards. If, for example, Mew-EX used versatile to copy an attack named "Hell Wing", only to be blocked from that attack by a Pokémon's attack, it could theoretically copy an attack named Crimson Wing" although they were intended to be the same attack. Sorry for going on and on about this, but having as precise as possible translations is something that Bulbapedia takes pride in, and having them changed to less precise equivalents to other websites' less skilled equivalents is not something that's going to fly.
