Missing sprites
Why are some sprites missing yet their description page still exists?—★Pika3323 11:51, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
- We're busy in a mass move of all the back sprites these days, so there might be some server syncing problems for few days. We are doing our best to wrap it up as soon as possible. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 15:30, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
- Just thought I'd let you know of this database error, A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:
(SQL query hidden) from within function "Article::updateCategoryCounts". Database returned error "1213: Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction (174.37.30.34)".—★Pika3323 22:23, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Also
If you don't believe the information I post on discussion pages, that's fine. That doesn't give you a reason to erase what I posted. Once the information has been confirmed to your standards, you can actually use the information I put there. I plan on posting a lot of the English names. They're not widely advertised on the official site, so you don't have to move any pages, but leave my two cents on the name origins there, please. I'm saving people some work by trying to decipher some of these myself, and I'd appreciate if you left it there for other people to see. If any different name is confirmed (though I doubt this will happen), you can erase everything I wrote about the name. Thanks! --Kianglo 01:17, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Can you hold off posting those until we actually get confirmation though, because as of right now you're posting origins for something that hasn't even been confirmed yet. Save it somewhere (perhaps in your userspace?) until the right time comes, please. —♥ Jellotalk 01:19, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Couldn't I just post it with a note that it's not quite 100%? In case it's revealed and I'm not there to put it in the discussion page or anything. The lists that have been going around have been accurate thus far with the "officially" revealed names like Klink and Pansage, and I think it's better if other people can read it. If you have a serious problem with this let me know. --Kianglo 01:23, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Still I would prefer you hold off on posting these for now. It does not matter if everything has been right so far, the fact is they have not officially been confirmed, and we cannot add those names until they are. —♥ Jellotalk 01:26, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't say you had to add them. But whatever. I don't see your point, but I'll just keep everything to myself. But if no one does the name origins when the pages are eventually moved to the English names, I will. --Kianglo 01:29, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

encounter rates
How do you get the Pokémon encounter rates? Pokabu82 01:58, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm not quite sure how it's done either. —♥ Jellotalk 17:03, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Look at this page, from the formula if you want to work out a Pokémon's encounter rate, you would walk around until you've walked 150 steps, recording the number of each species you encounter, 1 would be very rare, 3 would be rare, 5 would be semi-rare, 7 would be common, and and 8 would be very common. If you want to get an accurate result you would have to do this more than once though. Pikiwyn talk 17:50, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Bots? How!?
How have all the bots that have been getting blocked get through the captcha when being created? --Landfish7 21:35, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- I do not know the specifics, but whoever is controlling those bots seems to have broken through the captcha system. I don't know how either, but we can't really do anything about it right now except get rid of them as they come. —♥ Jellotalk 23:57, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Are the bots coming from 1 specific IP, or does it change every time? Gliscorguy54 21:59, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
So...
Do we start on Generation V? I've seen Adyniz already starting the mass move. Masatoshitalk 16:21, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- Jel, Psy or Ht, all of'em are not online at the moment so I think I'm gonna take this. I checked and there's nothing left from previous generations. So, we should really start moving Generation V stuff, btw I'm only free for today; have been a lot busy in uni stuff these days so I might not have much time to do it regularly. So, I'm trying to wrap it up as soon as possible :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:09, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Back sprite animation... again.
A while ago you told me that back sprites shouldn't be animated. Has that changed? I just found an animated backsprite.—★Pika3323 20:10, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- At the moment, they don't need to be animated. If it's animated though, I don't see any harm in letting it stay like that. —♥ Jellotalk 20:11, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- What's the idea behind shiny current game sprites? They don't appear anywhere in main space area!—★Pika3323 21:09, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- Consistency with the regular sprites :P You never know when they might come in handy. —♥ Jellotalk 21:15, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- The forums won't let send you a reply!—★Pika3323 21:20, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, I didn't think about that. Hold on a minute, you'll be hooked up on the Archives. —♥ Jellotalk 21:23, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- Do I start uploading crystal back sprites. The ones which are missing (like metapod)?—★Pika3323 14:09, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- For platinum and HGSS back sprites, if they're identical do you add the platinum tagging too?—★Pika3323 21:30, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah if they're exactly the same, then you can put multiple taggings on the first game the sprite appears in. —♥ Jellotalk 21:33, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- So platinum/HGSS sprites should be named what 4p or 4h?—★Pika3323 21:52, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- If the HGSS sprite is the same as Platinum, then it should be named 4p, the 4h would then get redirected to the 4p sprite. —♥ Jellotalk 21:57, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- The archives are really running glitchy right now.—★Pika3323 22:26, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

- Yeah. —♥ Jellotalk 22:45, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm here now on 2 things, mostly different then the other questions, Why don't you add Uploading Crystal, FR LG, Platinum, and HGSS back sprites to the archives to-do list? Is this archives duplicate file checker thing still working? According to my superhuman powers (Crossing eys to match 2 sprites) some sprites are identical but the archives don't pick it up.—★Pika3323 20:39, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry I've been a bit busy lately so I haven't had time to do that just yet. —♥ Jellotalk 22:26, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- Just pointing out, with the identical sprites, it'll only work if the two files are exactly identical. If one is a slightly different size, or the sprite is in a slightly different position in the frame (even one pixel out) then it'll see them as different. Werdnae (talk) 03:30, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah. —♥ Jellotalk 22:45, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Sounds like a bunch of spectulation
How is the most populous cities a bunch of spectulation, you cannot make accusations in which you do not consider, as a real example both Nambasa and Castelia City from the Unova region share the largest city space, as a point of view you believe Nambasa as it's population of 150 (249 if considering battle arena) toppling Castelia City's population of 130 BUT what about it's regeneration of unlimited? Exactly, consider that other people many not share your point of view instead respect, please use better language rather that just SOUNDS, why not read ? --Italay90 23:42, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Don't accuse me of not reading something before I delete it. For your information, I did read it and I did not see any point in having an article that pretty much comes from the demographic section of each city/town. If you wanted, you could have expanded those sections instead of creating a short article that really serves no purpose that the demographic section could not cover. If you are not content with my decision you can approach another administrator about it if you wish, perhaps they'll have a different point of view. —♥ Jellotalk 23:50, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

So, I finished uploading the first 151 sprites on FRLG, and when I wanted to start on the Johto Pokémon, I noticed that FRLG didn't have them, do I just redirect every Johto Pokémon to their RSE sprites? Masatoshitalk 08:14, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Bold Name
Hi Jello! Happy Valentine's Day/Single Awareness Day! xD So, why is it that we are omitting the Japanese names now? We've always had it since the release. I know it's not the English name, but at least there's a name there. And I know that the Japanese city names are in between the parentheses. But, it looks awkward. Like... "(In Japanese, Souryuu City) is a city." That makes no sense, you get what I'm saying? --Han Ji-Wan 22:31, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, same too you! I'm not sure who came up with the bright idea that it was okay to bold the transliteration but that's just not how it works here. Unless the localization never comes out, we don't bold the name until it does. Little awkward yes, but no point being redundant, plus it's easier to spot when we do get a sea of information. —♥ Jellotalk 22:35, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you for clearing that up for me. --Han Ji-Wan 22:39, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Deleted article - Pokemon Database
Hi there, it seems the article on the Pokémon Database was deleted by you. Sorry if it sounded a little biased - I am the site owner but I tried to write it from a neutral perspective. The site is definitely notable - it's currently the 3rd or 4th most popular fansite online since Black & White came out and has a large community. If you're able to restore the page that would be great, otherwise I can write it again - I'll make sure to keep it as neutral as possible! Thanks in advance. DisgruntledGoat 17:18, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi there, we don't allow articles to be written about fansites by anyone affiliated with them, and considering you're the site owner, it's in a conflict of interest. Someone not affiliated with you guys has to write the article, and even then it has to meet notability requirements which are not determined by me, nor you, but by the fandom itself. You can certainly discuss if the article is notable enough for it's own article, but please refrain from creating it yourself. $aturn¥oshi is the leader of Project Fandom, which all fansites fall under, so it would be best to discuss that with him. Thanks. —♥ Jellotalk 20:47, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
Small issue
Hi Jello. I have a slight issue regarding the number of episodes since James has had a pokemon last. It is 214 and I checked that and double checked it. He keeps changing it to 216 episodes I presume he was counting the two specials. I am getting a little fed up with reverting them and I don't want to start an edit war. I was about to just mark it for protection so one wouldn't start but I came to you first. Can you come help? It's on the James's Yamask Page and talk page. --Pokemaster97 21:50, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- I've changed it to 214, based on the fact that James doesn't appear in these "episodes" though my word isn't final, it's up to debate really. Also, the top notice already warns against adding trivia right now, so it would be a shame for people to edit war over such a minuscule piece of information.—♥ Jellotalk 22:18, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

I thought I might aware you that my brother created an account last year and then never went on the site again. I thought this may be useful so you don't think I am sockpuppeting. I'm not sure who to bring this up with but you looked pretty senior and could maybe pass it on to someone who needs to know. Thank you :) Matthewtelee 08:30, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
Dream world artwork
Is missing for Zen Mode Darmanitan! Is there artwork for Zen Mode Darmanitan? Can someone upload it? Also, there is an error for vanillite. Sorry, I love Zen Mode Darmanitan. *Runs off raving about the sheer craziness of the extreme lack of Zen Mode Darmanitan* Focus58 12:54, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- There is no artwork for Zen Mode Darmanitan. I assume it is because it is a HP-specific form and 'HP' does not exist in the Dream World, but can't say for sure. Bluesun 13:04, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi Jello, I wanted to contact you through here but the edit lockdown on this wiki prevented me from doing that action. I would like to inform you that I sent a PM to your account over the NIWA forums; you know, the one that you volunteered to do this task to help Bulbapedia. Please respond back via PM when you got the stuff. --RAP 02:11, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I sent you a PM back but just in case, I apologize for the late reply. I'm currently in the middle of exams, and I should be free by next week or so. —♥ Jellotalk 02:53, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
Edits
Why do people keep undoing my edits!? All I have ever done is add small details after having confirmed them as irrefutable facts and fix grammar errors and yet someone always has to undo them even if my edit is simply capitalizing a name or something! I am getting increasingly upset about this. Why am I the one getting in trouble when other people edit my submissions which are facts? ~Nokota
- Such is the nature of a wiki. Every time you edit a page there is a friendly reminder: "Please note that all contributions to Bulbapedia may be edited, altered, or removed by other contributors. Please only submit information you know to be accurate, and adhere to a neutral point of view. Do not misrepresent rumors, misconceptions or opinions as fact." What you added was reverted by Werdnae and he offered more than one reason as to why it was reverted. Please don't get offended if something of yours gets removed. —♥ Jellotalk 01:55, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Re: Look
Changing a format is perfectly fine, just as long as you change the format of every character, so go on then. felinoel 07:07, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Please stop accusing me of something when I had fixed my mistake the first time you reverted me. I'm only doing it for articles that say "So far she can be faced in one of the four leagues, for a total of one time." I removed the "total of one time" because otherwise, it would be redundant. Now, if she was faced twice but only appearing in one league, I would have left the total in. You're not the only one doing hard work on this site. Bringing in your whole "speculation" argument again? What does that even have to do with anything? Nate protected the page, because clearly it would have turned into an edit war if you had reverted that edit again without actually checking to see what I changed. Real mature of you. I understand I'm not perfect and I make lots of mistakes but I am willing to fix them, because guess what? I'm human too. —♥ Jellotalk 07:27, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- You are only doing it now, but that is not my only problem with your edits, you use wrong information? felinoel 07:40, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- You could have mentioned that before, instead of reverting an entire edit. —♥ Jellotalk 07:44, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- I did, in the editor's summary, and besides I didn't revert the entire thing? I kept the addition of the Project TCG thing? It has been brought to my attention that there were spelling mistakes... which is odd since I use Firefox and it automatically shows what is misspelled... I did not see your corrections in the edits, it may have been a small correction, those are always hard to spot when you don't know to look for it. felinoel 07:52, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Speculation argument? No no I said, "Is wrong information protected as well as speculation." Not saying that this was speculation, only that it was incorrect. Anyways as for what speculation means it is where information is posted based on what someone assumes to be fact instead of what has been proven to be fact. Most Wikipedia sites are against speculation and yes I know, I was told that this site is not one of them so no need to repeat that. felinoel 07:59, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Right here. The only thing you mentioned in the edit summary was the totals I was removing. You didn't mention anything about the playoffs which I just read on the talk page to realized what you were talking about. I apologize if I offended you, it's 4 AM here and I am bound to make more mistakes than usual. —♥ Jellotalk 08:05, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oh yea sorry I meant to put that but ran out of room, I always hate how there is such limited space to put in those summaries. Also, that wasn't the only summary I put. felinoel 08:10, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Oh, okay I get it now...
But that might be something that would be worth clarifying (that it is okay to remove trivia). The way that I took the warning at the top of every page is: don't mess with trivia at all, leave it alone. I think that this is something that others might think as well. Sprites, again again.
This one's a hard one, so, if castform's winter form's shiny sprite is the same as its normal one, would it be a new file for the shiny, or just a redirect to the normal one?—★Pika3323 00:09, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Cable Club black out glitch
Well today i took long time and wrote a page about the Generation 1 glitch called the Cable Club black out glitch, and you deleted it. Could you tell me what i did wrong? im sorta new around here. --Rsrdaman 01:46, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, there are couple of things that need to be addressed about your edits. First of all, that article was very badly written, it had tons of grammar and spelling mistakes, that you should have proof read beforehand. Secondly, there's a welcome template on your talk page giving out useful tips and information about how to edit properly here, and most importantly, the Manual of Style. You were also using "you" to address the reader, which we don't do here as it is not encyclopedic. Finally, I believe your topic is of questionable notability, I think by now we have covered all the notable glitches from RB generation, so there was no need for that article at all. I will bring up the topic of this glitch with SnorlaxMonster, since he's more knowledgeable about glitches, and discuss it with him, however. All in all, please take some time to get used to the style of editing here before going out and creating articles which may get deleted if they are not done properly. —♥ Jellotalk 02:01, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for telling me all that! I will make sure to revise the whole thing according to what you said. And if it does get approved by SnorlaxMonster I would glady re write it. And if you want to see the glitch in action goto Cable Club black out glitch. Thanks again! And sorry for my mistakes! --Rsrdaman 02:47, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- I noticed the deletion of this article and meant to get around to mentioning it, but I think it is notable. The is some more detailed information on it here and here. It seems that you can even combine it with the Johto guard glitch, which is already a huge combination of glitches in the first place, to obtain glitch items. --SnorlaxMonster 17:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Re: don't intentionally go looking for these
Wait... why not? They are apparently important to be deleted? Why can't I try to help out by finding them? I am only trying to help? felinoel 05:06, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- Because our main concern is editing Bulbapedia articles. You're bringing up talk pages that had these comments from years ago and some comments actually do have something to do with the article. I appreciate you trying to help, but it's just not that big of a concern and we can handle it. Thanks. —♥ Jellotalk 05:14, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- I only brought up two, one was from four years ago and the other was a hypothetical question that would not improve the article from less than two months ago? felinoel 05:21, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- You stated on Adyniz's talk page that you were clicking random links to find such things, so clearly you would have continued to do this if I hadn't requested you to stop. —♥ Jellotalk 05:33, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- No? I said the Random Page link? You know the one that is this?
- Who said I was going to stop, of course I was going to continue? Discussions that don't pertain to the article apparently need to be deleted? I still am wondering why you asked me to stop? felinoel 05:41, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- Requests and demands are two different things, and as I said before, we can handle it when needed. So it isn't any of your concern and your efforts would be appreciated elsewhere. This is a wiki and we as a whole should be be focusing on completing our articles not worrying about some petty comments on talk pages that should or should not be removed. And please don't patronize me, I do know what the random page link does. I'll be ending this discussion here now. —♥ Jellotalk 06:14, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- Key word in my last statement is "was" so please note its usage. My only confusion in this whole matter is that why my post out of so many others gets deleted and then I even get insulted for it? It is not my fault? I see constant posts in the talk page that don't completely and entirely have to do with the article? How am I supposed to know not to do it when there are so many others? Then when I try to prevent other people from making the same mistake I made by going to find all discussion that apparently are required to be removed from existence I get yelled at. Then when I stop doing it I get yelled at some more? Also for the record I was not patronizing you, it is very simple to misread something, I just assumed you misread my post and did not recognize what I meant so I linked you to it to prevent further misunderstanding, I link a lot, when you link people can understand much easier what I am talking about? felinoel 07:43, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
