Ideas and questions
Ideas / random thoughts (please challenge if they're dumb):
- Some of the translations are just weird, or do not seem to be translations at all (but fan designators??). I have no idea about that, so I'm just gonna go with CycloneGU mostly, much like you did.
- For Electric Selfdestruct Deck, see User talk:Nescientist#TCG2 Deck Names
- I just "verified" the translations you asked for, many of which are old articles. They've all been at least "okay". (I was basically being very lenient, as above, cause I believe moving those should have a better reason than slightly more accurate translation.)
- If an article exists on the Japanese wiki (or any partner wiki), an interwiki link should be added (even if the page is to be moved)
- I think it should always be in the opening paragraph who plays this and how the deck is available (it's too important for trivia imo)
- Decks should be linked to in every article they're mentioned (which should always be at least one article)
- Ideally, GR1 deck articles should also have the Japanese name in the lead
- It's helpful how you're using edit summaries for transparency; anyway, you can actually use [[ ]] links in edit summaries (rather than URLs)
Questions:
- What's your plan for the Auto Deck Machine article? (Me: Sooner rather than later?)
- You proposed several decks for moving, apparently because of User:CycloneGU/Sandbox. For example, the Japanese name for Electric Fire Deck literally reads "Electric Fire Deck", so why should they be moved elsewhere? Am I missing something? Should they really be moved (in your opinion)? (May the Auto Deck Machine 1 translations just be rubbish?)
I'll be doing interwikis right now, and maybe some optimization (e.g. moving stuff out of trivia) if I find something along the way. Nescientist (talk) 14:06, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- And I just noticed that some of the translations cause problems. Poison Bee Deck is actually Remaining Green Deck, for example. Could you check if there are other such cases (probably list them on the userpage), and make sure you won't create new pages for pages that can be moved instead? Nescientist (talk) 14:16, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- I guess I'm about to check what I just asked you to check "along the way". Also, I'm removing "is not available from the Auto Deck Machine"; if you think I shouldn't, feel free to just say so. Nescientist (talk) 16:21, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- Apparently it was only Poison Bee/Remaining Green, so I've suggested the one you created be removed. (It can be moved later.) Also, FYI, I've stopped removing "not available from the Auto Deck Machine". Nescientist (talk) 17:15, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- I think I'm done. かわらのおさんぽデッキ, じごくのベンチデッキ, and とってもレアカードデッキ do have pages at the Japanese wiki, but I found no mention of them here (or elsewhere on Bulbapedia), so maybe you're still missing them (the first and second appear to be related to Aaron, the third Ishihara)
- And the Ghost Masters' decks have their own pages, not sure if you wanna give them here. Good luck! Nescientist (talk) 18:38, 5 January 2020 (UTC)

- Idea 1) Actually, I can't speak japanese. So, when CycloneGU says that "The deck names I'm inserting on each club member's page are the proper translations, and someone who has helped with a lot of other Japanese translation work on the site is assisting me with this to make sure the names are correct.", well, I trust him. Regardin the case of Electric Selfdestruct Deck: I deliberately changed the translation made by CycloneGU "Electric Suicide Deck" in "Electric Selfdestruct Deck". This is GB1 deck name ビリビリじばくデッキ and this is the GB2 one じばくでビリビリデッキ. デッキ means Deck; じばく has been translated by CycloneGU as Suicide, but has been translated as Selfdestruct in all Pokémon games (core and spin-off); ビリビリ is an onomatopoeia related to the electricity; で is the only difference between the two names. I don't know what it means, but I don't want to ignore it, so I'm considering them as different decks. Also, the japanese wiki has two separate page for them.
- Idea 2) I agree. A more accurate translation remains an unofficial translation, whatever we do, so we should leave those name unchanged (avoiding unnecessary move).
- Idea 3) Sorry for not doing that before.
- Idea 4) I agree. Deck pages look much better now. I will create new pages according to this.
- Idea 5) Do you mean "GB1"? Well, yes, it's something that we can include in the to do list.

- Idea 3) Sorry for not doing that before.

- Idea 7) Oh...
- Question 1) Sprites are missing, so we need to add them. My idea is to replicate a list like this Auto Deck Machine#List of machines that contains the japanese text of the in-game description. Obviously, the article needs a bit of explanation about the number of Auto Deck Machine and other info in Auto Deck Machine#Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR!
- Question 2) For Electric Fire Deck, Battle Water Deck and Esper Green Deck: each names refer to Types. So Electric is wrong for sure. Battle, Esper, Green too. I think that these translations are completely wrong (my fault, since I created the articles). I think that they should be moved.
- For the other decks: maybe this is the same case discussed at "Idea 2)" above. I'm not sure, but if we follow CycloneGU's translations, then we should move them too.
- Regarding the Poison Bee Deck, my fault again. I'm sorry.
- Regarding "is not available from the Auto Deck Machine", you can delete it. If we're going to use the new template based on Charlie, that phrase become unnecessary and redundant. I'm going to use it anymore.
- Regarding the Ghost Masters' decks, I will not create a separate page.
Nescientist, I don't have words, you have made a great work. Simply thank you. Laspandrea (talk) 00:37, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- You're actually doing more work. I love you too.
- Idea 1: で is (just) a particle, you may translate it as "by" or "of" or "through" or just ignore it, based on context. And I didn't want to merge these two decks anyway, but let the similarity in Japanese names be reflected in English translated names, that's all.
- Idea 5 (or actually 6): GB1, yeah..
- Question 2: I think you misunderstand, I literally mean they.. literally mean that. As in エレキファイヤーデッキ literally reads "Elec(tric) Fire Deck" (for example), it's basically English written in katakana. Cyclone's translations appear to be "weird" here (iirc, I think some ADM1 decks are specifically weird, and I don't think he said those were necessarily "proper" translations?). I would not propose to move them.
- Regarding "(not) available from the Auto Deck Machine", I think it's fine to keep or to remove, I don't really care at all, that's what I was saying. Nescientist (talk) 01:39, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Idea1) Do you have some proposal? Actually, I think that Electric Selfdestruct Deck and Zapping Selfdestruct Deck are similar enough.
- Question 2) Ok, I still think that those names refer to TCG Type, but you're right about the katakana. I would not propose to move them too. Laspandrea (talk) 10:12, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Idea 1: Page titles should be fine, yes. Nescientist (talk) 17:30, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Could you check if ちからまかせデッキ (what we have at Full Strength Deck) is actually the name of GB1 Chris' Muscles for Brains Deck rather than of the deck that's at that page ちからわざデッキ (Heavy Work Deck)? It's what the ja interwiki article suggests. In other words, does Grace really play ちからまかせデッキ, or is it just ちからわざデッキ? Nescientist (talk) 16:46, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

Just checked in my Jap GB1 cartridge: ちからまかせデッキ is the japanese name of the GB1 Muscles for Brains Deck played by Club Member Chris. Also ちからまかせデッキ is the name of the GB2 Full Strength Deck (GB1 deck and GB2 deck have different decklists), played by Grace. So this is a special case of Phantom Deck, Bug Collecting Deck, I Love to Fight Deck, but with two different people. We has requested a merge for these articles, but now I think that we shouldn't merge Chris's and Grace's decks. There is a deck in ADM2, listed as ちからわざデッキ (Heavy Work Deck), that has the same decklist of the Full Strength Deck, but not the same of Muscles for Brains Deck. - unsigned comment from Laspandrea (talk • contribs)
- Usually, I would go with (Japanese) names, such that deck pages should focus on one (Japanese) deck name, and if that's used by different people, then say that in the article. (I think there's no case where one Japanese name is translated differently, right?) If the contents of decks are the same between two decks, then that too is something we should say (link to the other in the intro, preferably).
- I would certainly propose Great Earthquake Deck be merged into Great Quake Deck, but I'm not sure about merging Full Strength Deck into Muscles for Brains Deck (because that name reflects the Japanese name too little in my opinion). I would probably ask for another opinion of someone with more knowledge on both Japanese and TCG (I'd probably ask Maverick Nate, who could also finalize proposed merges and deletions as necessary). That's my opinion, but please go ahead with whatever you think is most sensible. Nescientist (talk) 11:19, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- I totally agree with you. I'm going to write the merge template in Great Earthquake Deck. Laspandrea (talk) 12:13, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- So what about the template? The current mainspace template seems to be pretty outdated by now (which is one of the reasons why I always said that the template should be edited as soon as reasonably possible). It's not necessary to have it outdated for longer. If you could get rid of the "TO DO" stuff in there, I suggest you just update the actual template accordingly, referencing this user page in the edit summary. - I asked CycloneGU (User talk:CycloneGU#TCG GB2 Project) for the permission to edit the GB2 Deck template, but he never responded. Actually, I can edit that template myself, because it's not protected. Anyway, I'm going to do now. Laspandrea (talk) 12:35, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
