Commas in numbers

Out of curiosity, where are you getting the fact that numbers have to have 5 digits before you can put a comma from? I know that in math, and in the games themselves, the comma is at every point that's a multiple of three digits to the left, but I thought I should probably ask you where you're getting this from to avoid an edit war. -EVsandIVsaurs 13:10, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

It's funny, I could have sworn I read that somewhere in the policies, but maybe it was another site. This site doesn't have a policy with commas and numbers. I will say that in the past various pages haven't used commas with numbers that have 4 digits, but I checked a few other places where they have five digits, and they don't use commas there either. You are right, the games do now have the commas with four digit numbers, but I do think we should be consistent with the past of the site.
