Vietnam
Hi. You added Vietnam to the list of countries on Project Globe. Only I'm supposed to touch that list, but never mind... Are you from Vietnam? Can you confirm that Pokémon is dubbed to Vietnamese? Or is it broadcasted in some other language? --electAbuzzzz 20:56, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- I don't remember exactly what year but in my memories it's nearly 10 years from the 1st time I watched Pokemon anime on Vietnamese TV Channel. Everything non-Vietnamese which was broadcast in VN is some kind of different with in another countries. Most of them have the voice-over instead of VNese dub, especially in the past. That means Pokemon is not the exception.
- Pokemon Anime was broadcast in Vietnamese national TV Station, VTV3 Channel (maybe) for 2 initial seasons. Besides, Vinabook Co.ltd published this anime series in VCD from the 1st episode up to Advanced Generation. I'm not sure about Pokemon Diamond & Pearl 'cause I don't like this part of Pokemon series. --Meo3chan 06:24, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, then you're welcome to write the article. And one more thing - while the Chinese link you gave me is very much appreciated, please next time post it on my talk page and not my Facebook wall xD thanks. --electAbuzzzz 11:31, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry for this ;___;. Actually I'm not good at using wiki form (in general, not only the Bulbapedia). It takes time to get used to Bulbapedia and to collect more official information about Pokemon in my country. Whenever I know enough to write a good article, I will try to create an article. However, at this time I just walk, see and report or do some minor edit (i guess :P)--Meo3chan 12:59, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, you'll learn in time. If you want, you can start your page in your userspace (User:Meo3chan/ Pokémon in Vietnam), and once it'll be good enough, we'll move it to the mainspace. --electAbuzzzz 13:31, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Vietnamese episode titles
The fact that they use both English and Japanese names at times make the seem a bit fishy. Are those really official titles? If they are, can you explain the mechanics between those Japanese/English name variation? Does Vietnamese dub/voice-over use them interchangeably, or what? Also, as far as I know Pokemon Special manga was translated into Vietnamese as well (several volumes at least). Do you know anything more about that? Like, what names were used? Thanks in advance. I'm very interested in international Pokemon translations and Viet Nam is a very interesting region for me, as I know very little about the Pokemon translation there. --Maxim 20:15, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
