Userspace
Hello, I've noticed you've been editing your userspace lately. I'd like to note that your last mainspace edit was the 6th of January. Please halt your edits to your userspace for now until you've made a decent amount of mainspace edits.--ForceFire 02:59, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Let's talk for a minute
I have a feeling that you may not know our policies on something called an edit war. This is when after one party adds or removes something to a page, another party undoes the first edit, and the first party reverts the revision, only to have it undone yet again, and so on. We at Bulbapedia do not tolerate this kind of behavior under any circumstance. (We actually have it detailed on the Blocking policy.) Instead of constantly reverting one another, users are requested to bring their issues to the talk pages for discussion. I just wanted you to know that you should not have reverted Funktastic~!'s change to the Luxray (TCG) page. Discussion was already underway on the talk page for the article, and the final decision was going to result from that discussion, not from the improvement tags constantly being added and removed on the main article.
In a nutshell, whenever you are thinking of reverting a revert, slow down and think about whether or not a talk page discussion is the better option, whether it be on the user's talk page or the article's talk page. After starting that discussion, make sure to wait for responses before reverting someone. Almost always, the discussion is the right choice. We don't want good-intentioned editors like yourself blocked because of a rash decision. MaverickNate 03:04, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- I am just confused, as to why it was removed when the discussions relevant to said tags had not finished being discussed. Did the editor not see the conversations going on?
- I do apologize for my rashness, though. I did start the the topic in order to avoid an edit war, and then added the tags to invite others into it.
- Sorry again, Tacopill (talk) 03:17, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Don't worry too much about it! =] The problem there is that the tags meant that almost 700 pages would have to be moved/merged. The idea turned into an extremely large-scale change. At that point, it fell onto me as Head of TCG to make a final decision, and any discussion from the general userbase wasn't going to have much of an impact. Funk probably shouldn't have removed the tags without commenting on the talk page, but what has passed is past. Everything's back to normal. MaverickNate 03:37, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
