Thank you for joining our community! By creating an account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. This is a brief introduction to Bulbapedia's rules and resources to help you get started:

  • All users are expected to follow the code of conduct and to be kind to one another.
  • If you have a question, check out our FAQ; the manual of style provides detailed editing guidance, and the wikicode page provides details about how to use wikicode.
    • You can always ask for help by contacting a staff member.
  • Please preview your edits before saving them; this helps you double-check your changes and reduces the need for repeated minor edits.
  • Use talk pages to discuss changes and resolve editing disputes.
  • Creating a userpage is allowed after you've added to the encyclopedia; for more details, see the userspace policy.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~) so people know who is commenting. This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links and information, check out the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Hi there

Hey! Thanks for contributing to the Tatusgiri page! Just thought I'd let you know that you can use the Preview button (next to the Save button) to preview your edits before saving, so that you can publish them all in one go. It really helps limit the number of edits and makes it easier to track page histories while also reducing stress on the server. Give it a try! Landfish7 23:28, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi just wanted to circle back on the message I left you a few days ago. Have you tried my advice? It really does help us out a lot, such as with preventing the Recent Changes log from getting clogged up. If you have any questions, consider asking a staff member. They're here to help! Landfish7 11:11, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
It comes to my attention you tend to edit on mobile. The mobile site automatically brings up a preview, and you can press the back button on the top left to go back and make more changes. Hope this helps! Landfish7 11:17, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
Hello! Sorry, I just saw these messages now. I will take your advice about the preview feature, thank you. I do know how to use it but I did not know that it was important for me to minimize the edit quantities, so I will endeavor to do so now. Veledwin (talk) 13:27, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
No worries. Thanks for responding! Landfish7 14:17, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --ForceFire 05:53, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

Basculin

You seem to be involved in an edit war on the Basculin page with TurtwigFan4848, if someone keeps making edits and someone keeps reverting them, this is what we consider an edit war. If this happens, we prefer members to use the talk pages to explain any reasoning in why they think an edit is or isn't needed. Anyone who continues to edit war may face a short block so please keep this in mind.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 19:08, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

I did use the talk page prior to that and I used the Editor’s Summary extensively to explain any reasoning, which TurtwigFan4848 has ignored repeatedly and failed to do themselves. They seem to be biased towards White-Stripe Basculin being a regional form since they keep adding incorrect information despite failing to come up with any sound reasoning for their edits. Veledwin (talk) 19:19, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
If several members are involved in an edit war like this, admin feel it best to remind both members, regardless of what role each member played. The fact you used the talk page correctly puts you in the right.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 19:22, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
I understand, thank you. Veledwin (talk) 20:05, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
He reverted the change again despite offering no new attempt at coming up with sound reasoning. Still hasn’t used the talk page and what’s worse is that all they said this time in the Editor’s Summary was “You will respect me as I know more then you so please stop right now.” This is extremely ridiculous and inappropriate behavior on their part. Veledwin (talk) 20:11, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
Admin are aware of this and are going to take action so don't worry about it.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 20:13, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Much appreciated, thank you Veledwin (talk) 20:15, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

While a talk page discussion is ongoing on a specific controversial subject, please do not continue to edit that topic on the page. That's just continuing the edit war. Edits can be made after there is a consensus on the talk page. --SnorlaxMonster 01:58, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Long edit summaries

Just wanted to let you know that a lot of your edit summaries are too long and are getting cut off. There are a maximum of 500 characters in an edit summary. On desktop, the interface will actually prevent you from entering an edit summary longer than this, but it appears that on mobile the site just lets you write as much as you want, but deletes any text over the limit.

I would recommend avoiding quoting sentences from the article in your edit summaries, as that is likely to go over the limit. And if you do think it's necessary to write a lot in an edit summary, you would be better served using the talk page and linking to the appropriate talk page section in your edit summary. --SnorlaxMonster 03:11, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Page Block

You have been blocked from editing the Basculin page for a week. While you did use the talk page which is the correct way to debate edits, this was only after engaging in an edit war. If an edit is undone / re-added twice, then it should be taken to the talk page at that point. Re-adding / removing the same content from a page can prolong an edit war and be counterproductive to the conduct of the wiki. In the future, if you think something does or does not belong on a page but the other user(s) are also adding or removing the same stuff, take it to a talk page or let one of the site admins know so we can look into the issue. Frozen Fennec 03:17, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I did not only use the Talk page after the edit war. I used it before making an edit at all. And I did not continue editing when an actual discussion finally started on the talk page. And I did let an admin know, I was told admins were aware and simply told to “not worry about it” so I was not sure what I could or couldn’t do after that. I did get impatient though and that’s my fault, I just think the instructions could have been clearer. But I shall keep that all in mind in the future. Veledwin (talk) 14:56, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
