Release Information

This card was included in the English XY expansion, first released in the Japanese Collection X. Due to its unique characteristics within the Pokémon games, this Vivillon card was printed with multiple artworks featuring its different wing patterns; however, unique to this Pokémon card is the fact that the multiple artworks share the same set number.

  • For the Japanese Collection X expansion, both the standard Meadow Pattern and one of Japan's featured patterns, the Elegant Pattern, were released.
  • The English XY expansion featured the standard Meadow Pattern, but replaced the Elegant Pattern with one of the patterns featured throughout the United States, the High Plains Pattern.
  • The Italian and Spanish prints for the XY expansion, in addition to the standard Meadow Pattern, featured the Marine Pattern.
  • The German XY prints and the Korean X Collection prints are the Meadow Pattern and the Continental Pattern.
  • The Portuguese expansion, released in Brazil, contains the standard Meadow Pattern and adds in an exclusive Savanna Pattern. These two are only available in Sheen Holofoil and not Reverse Holofoil.
  • When the card game returned to Russia with XY on October 6, 2014, the prints included were Meadow and Icy Snow.
  • The French expansion only includes the one Meadow Pattern.

Each of the two prints for each language is treated as a separate Holo Rare in the pack distribution: it is equally as likely to pull a Meadow Pattern or the language-exclusive pattern. However, because of this, it is twice as likely to pull a Vivillon card from booster packs as it is to pull a different Holo Rare Pokémon from the expansion.

In September 2014, an exclusive Cosmos Holofoil version of the English Meadow print was included in Grass Gym Collector Pack.
