Celadon City |

Welcome to Celadon! The city still hosts the same attractions it did three years ago, though the Game Corner no longer conceals a criminal hideout. Stop by the Poké Center to find Eusine, having returned to his hometown. Speak to him once you catch Raikou and Entei, and he'll tell you that there have been fresh rumors of a rainbow-colored Pokémon appearing at the Tin Tower. He leaves, waiting for you at the tower.
Celadon Mansion
If you visit Celadon at night, sneak behind the Poké Center and take the back stairs up to the mansion's top floor. The green-haired guy on the roof will recount a scary story, and give you TM03 (Curse) for listening. Curse raises Attack and Defense while lowering Speed, but works differently for the Template:Type2.
Celadon Diner
Just north of the trail to the Celadon Gym is a diner. Inspect the trash can by the counter to find some Leftovers, which restore a Pokémon's HP every turn in battle.
Celadon Department Store
The Celadon Department Store is still in business, selling anything a Trainer could need.

CELADON CITY
POKéMON GYM
LEADER: ERIKA
The Nature-Loving
Princess
The Celadon Gym is a haven for Template:Type2s, so your Fire-, Flying-, and Template:Type2s will have almost no resistance. Avoid bringing Water-, Ground-, and Template:Type2s to this nature-loving Gym. Erika has recruited five Gym Trainers, so you may want to heal up before challenging the Gym Leader herself. Her Tangela is especially vulnerable to Special moves, so just singe it a bit with a Fire-type attack and it won't be a problem. Her Jumpluff is pretty speedy, but a decent Template:Type2 move will give it a time-out. Watch out for Bellossom's Petal Dance and SolarBeam.
|
After her defeat, Erika gives you the Rainbow Badge. She also gives you TM19 (Giga Drain), one of only two Gym Leaders in Kanto to give out a TM.
Now that your business in Celadon is done, you may want to return to Ecruteak to investigate these "fresh rumors" that Eusine was talking about.
Ecruteak City
Tin Tower
The monks in the barrier station are all excited — they saw the tower shake, which means that a large Pokémon must have landed at the top. Enter the Tin Tower, and one of the Wise Trio will give you the Rainbow Wing to protect you. After you take the rainbow feather, a stairway appears next to you, allowing you to finally climb the tower. Stock up on Ultra Balls if you haven't already; Ho-Oh won't let itself be caught without a fight. Repels, Escape Ropes, and a high-level Pokémon with a status-inflicting move (like Spore or Thunder Wave) are also recommended.

3F
Jump the ledge to the west to reach a Full Heal. Head back east, and follow the path in a large S-shape past the pillar, and take the stairs in the northeast to reach the fourth floor.
4F
Make your way to the south to find an Ultra Ball, and a PP Up near the southeast stairs. Grab the Escape Rope near the southwest stairs, pass by the pillar, and climb the northwest stairs.
5F
Don't miss the Rare Candy near the pillar. Jump the ledges along the western path around the pillar, and take the southern stairs to the sixth floor.
6F
Grab the Max Potion near the pillar, and continue north. Cross the wooden bridge along the north wall, and climb the western stairs.
7F
Starting on this floor, the tower employs warp tiles to thwart unworthy Trainers. Step on the first warp tile you see to ultimately reach a Nugget and a Max Elixer before returning to 7F. Pick up the Max Revive in the northeast area, then head south. The next warp will lead you to an HP Up and a Full Restore. After three or four warps, you'll reach an area around the pillar with the stairway to the roof.

Ho-Oh Roosting |
Save the game before you initiate the rooftop battle. You have the option to throw the Master Ball at it as soon as the battle starts. If not, get ready for a long fight. Start off by using status-inflicting moves, like Spore or Thunder Wave to wear it down. Follow up with Water- or Template:Type2 attacks to inflict double the damage. Gradually whittle down its remaining HP with Fire-, Grass-, Fighting-, Bug-, or Template:Type2 attacks, since these types only inflict half or quarter damage.
|
After capturing Ho-Oh, head west from Celadon to reach Route 16, the north end of Cycling Road.
