Spectrier (Japanese: レイスポス Reisuposu) is a Ghost-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Spectrier fuses with Calyrex using the Reins of Unity to become Shadow Rider Calyrex.
Biology
Spectrier is an equine Pokémon with black-colored fur and a purple marking covering the right side of its face extending to the back of its ears. Its left eye is closed with thick, mauve-colored eyelashes. Its wavy mane is colored purple, with the tail and a fringe are mauve. The tips of its mane transitions to mauve. It has slender legs marked with a purple sock pattern. Its purple hooves are detached from the leg at the pastern, and the rear pair of hooves are trailed by spectral fur.
Spectrier traverses its surroundings without using its sense of sight, as its single eye is normally closed. Its kicks are said to separate a soul from its body, and it can steal the life force of sleeping beings. Spectrier is active during the night, since it desires isolation and silence. Spectrier is known to be very proud and arrogant, preferring to serves individuals it deems the strongest. Spectrier was known to terrorize the Crown Tundra for a time before being tamed by Calyrex. It has a fondness for Carrot Seeds, particularly Shaderoot Carrot.

Trivia
Origin
Spectrier, like its counterpart Glastrier, may draw inspiration from the mythological Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Spectrier representing the black horse of Famine given its roaming nature and purported ability to absorb life-force from living creatures. It may also be based on the black-colored knight chess piece.
The appearance of Spectrier may be based on the kelpie, a shapeshifting water spirit from Scottish legends – the Crown Tundra is based on Scotland. The kelpie is often described as a black horse – sometimes equipped with a bridle – that inhabits bodies of water and preys on people who try to ride it. These traits are echoed in Spectrier's appearance and how it can be tamed by Calyrex using the Reins of Unity.
Alternatively, Spectrier may be based on Llamrei, a mare owned by King Arthur in the Welsh tale Culhwch and Olwen. According to local legends of Snowdonia, Llamrei expelled the lake monster of Llyn Barforg (Bearded Lake) and left her footprint on a stone by the lake. Therefore, its ability to prey on the life energy of sleeping creatures may be a wordplay on 'mare', as both a sleep demon and a female horse, though with different etymology, are spelt as 'mare' in modern English.
Spectrier may also be inspired by the Old English Black, an extinct horse breed that influenced the bloodline of modern Shire horses and Clydesdale horses. Its detached hooves may be a stylization of the feathering of these horse breeds.
Name origin
Spectrier may be a combination of spectre and destrier, a type of medieval war horse.
Reisuposu may be a combination of wraith, 霊 rei (spirit), and ἵππος híppos (Greek for horse) or horse.
