Pokémon Adventures
Sword & Shield arc
The Crown Shrine was first mentioned in PASS38 in a story read by Henry.
In PASS40, the Peony expedition team arrived at the Crown Shrine to allow Calyrex to tame Spectrier with the Reins of Unity. However, just as they had succeeded in luring Spectrier to the shrine with a Shaderoot Carrot, the effects of the restarting Darkest Day reached the area, causing a Gigantamax Corviknight and a Gigantamax Butterfree to start attacking the site. While the expedition team fought against the Gigantamax Pokémon, Calyrex succeeded in taming Spectrier and left to save Freezington from a Dynamax Pokémon rampage. It returned around the time Peony succeeded in defeating the two Gigantamax Pokémon, bringing with it the Rusted Sword that Henry and his friends had been looking for.

Trivia
- If the player visits the Crown Shrine before obtaining the Shaderoot Carrot or the Iceroot Carrot, the camera changes the point of view for a moment, and the player senses that something, likely Calyrex's steed, was looking at them.
