• Shinji Miyazaki's music from Pokémon the Series: Black & White and Pokémon the Series: XY is reused as background music in this episode.
• This episode marks the first time a Mega Evolved Pokémon is seen being recalled to its Poké Ball in the anime.
• Despite having first appeared in Search for the Clubultimate!, 487 episodes earlier, this is the first time Dragon Tail’s secondary effect of switching out the opposing Pokémon is seen.
• This is the first time multiple Pokémon are returned to the same Poké Ball: Leon's Dragapult and its two Dreepy.
