Effect
After defeating Gym Leader Larry, the player can speak to the Cook at the Treasure Eatery in Medali to change a Pokémon's Tera Type. She will require 50 Tera Shards of the desired type to do so. Ogerpon and Terapagos have fixed Tera Types that can't be changed with Tera Shards.
Acquisition
Tera Shards are most commonly acquired by completing Tera Raid Battles of at least 3★, which may yield Tera Shards that match the Raid Boss's Tera Type. Higher-difficulty Tera Raids tend to yield more Tera Shards upon victory. The Glimmering Charm increases the number of Tera Shards obtained from Raids.
Tera Shards may also be found occasionally in the overworld as hidden items.
