Location of Shopping Mall Nine in Unova. | ||||
Pokémon world locations |
Shopping Mall Nine (Japanese: ショッピングモール アールナイン Shopping Mall R9) is the largest shopping center in the Unova region. It is located on Route 9, just outside Opelucid City. The store, like the department stores before it, offers a wide variety of items on its three floors. There are Trainers in the store who will battle the player.
Layout
|
||||
Like Department stores in other regions, all the individual stalls are located on different floors. Unlike these stores, Shopping Mall Nine is fitted with stairs rather than escalators or elevators. As a result, accessing different floors is quicker in Shopping Mall Nine than in other department stores.

Storage room
On the lower level of the store, there is a storage room on the right filled with boxes, each filled with old electrical appliances that Shopping Mall Nine can no longer sell. The player can interact with any box to change Rotom's form, similar to Rotom's Room in the Generation IV games.

Trivia
- This is the only department store to:
- Not include "Department Store" in its name.
- Be in a location other than a city.
- Not have roof access.
- Not have an elevator.
- Despite Department Stores having been known for their TM selection, Shopping Mall Nine only sells two TMs, TM15 (Hyper Beam) and TM68 (Giga Impact).
- Due to its location and size, it is probably based on the Palisades Center in West Nyack, New York, the thirteenth largest mall in the United States of America, covering 2,217,322 square feet (205,996.0 m²).
- The store has the catchphrase "Done Shopping? Nein!" as a play on the name.
