Each catch subtemplate, with the exception of the chart-setting header, div, and footer subtemplates, work to create the wild Pokémon availability chart for the main series games. There are some basic parameters shared among them, with some difference depending upon the games that are covered.

This begins the chart. Two parameters may be entered. The first parameter should be the type of terrain the area is. For example, a small town like Pallet or Azalea would use "land", while a big city like Goldenrod or Jubilife would use "building". The second parameter determines whether or not to show the morning/day/night headers. For Generation I and Generation III, set this to "no". For all others, set to "yes".

Catch/header/8 acts the same as Catch/header; however, the parameter that is normally used for the morning/day/night headers is instead used to determine whether or not to show the Weather headers.

Catch/header/9 only uses one parameter, which serves the same purpose as the first parameter in the other Catch/header templates.

This divides up a chart. Use to split Pokémon found by walking (in a cave or through tall grass) from Pokémon found by fishing and surfing, and from special event Pokémon, such as legendaries, or Pokémon that can only be caught once, like Rotom. The first parameter should be the same terrain type as in the header, while the second should be whatever should appear as text. Pre-made entries exist for National Dex (enter "National"), fishing and surfing (enter "Fish"), and special Pokémon (enter "Special"). Make every effort to not link in this.

Catch/div/9 works a little differently than the other dividers. It is designed to separate spawn data for each biome in an area, so the label and color scheme for each biome are predefined. These presets can be called by inputting the first one or two letters of the biome name as the one unnamed parameter. The following table lists all the biomes and their shortcut keywords:

HOW TO MAKE EVERYHIING AND UNIVERSE BE THROUGH AND OUT FOR MORE THAN INFINITY FOREVER?
The various catchentry templates begin in the same way, with the Pokémon's National Pokédex number in the first parameter followed by its name in the second parameter. The third through fifth (third and fourth only for pairs) parameters may be set to "yes" or "no" in order to indicate if a Pokémon is available in that game, with the third as the first game, the fourth as the second, and fifth as the third version.

HOW TO MAKE EVERYHIING AND UNIVERSE BE THROUGH AND OUT FOR MORE THAN INFINITY FOREVER?
For all templates that include three games, the sixth parameter indicates where the Pokémon is found, and by what method. The seventh indicates the levels of the Pokémon. The eighth varies among games: in Generation I and Generation III, it is the sole encounter rate. In other generations, it indicates the morning encounter rate in tandem with the ninth and tenth parameters, which indicate the day and night encounter rates.

HOW TO MAKE EVERYHIING AND UNIVERSE BE THROUGH AND OUT FOR MORE THAN INFINITY FOREVER?
For all templates that represent a pair of games, excluding Generation IV, the fifth parameter indicates where the Pokémon is found, and by what method. The sixth indicates the levels of the Pokémon. The seventh, eighth, and ninth parameters represent encounter rates, though how many are necessary - and what time of day each rate corresponds to - varies between generations.

HOW TO MAKE EVERYHIING AND UNIVERSE BE THROUGH AND OUT FOR MORE THAN INFINITY FOREVER?
For Generation IV's template, the fifth parameter indicates the levels of the Pokémon, and the sixth parameter represents the Pokémon's spawn weight.

Named parameters, which are optional and should fall at the end, include "all", which, in time-based generations, indicate a Pokémon's encounter rate is consistent throughout the day; "tradenum" and "tradename", which indicate which Pokémon must be traded by the player to an NPC for the Pokémon in question; the weather effects in Generation VIII; the terrain types in Generation IV; "form", which indicates the form of the Pokémon; and most importantly, "type1" and "type2", which indicate the type of the Pokémon.

This catchentry should be used for locations with wild Pokémon that are found in Generation I games. The third parameter indicates for Red and Blue, the fourth for Red and Blue, and the fifth for Yellow. The sixth parameter's special entries include "Grass", "Surf", "Cave", "Fish Old", "Fish Good", "Fish Super", "Building", "Fake", "Gift", "Prize", "Starter", "Dome", "Helix", "Amber", "Trade" and "Special". All others will lead to the default message. If "Trade" is input, at the end of the template, please indicate which Pokémon the player must trade using parameters "tradenum" and "tradename". The seventh parameter indicates what levels the Pokémon is found at. The eighth parameter indicates what rate it can be encountered at.

This catchentry is used for locations that wild Pokémon can spawn in Scarlet and Violet. The types of terrain that the Pokémon can spawn in are specified by the parameters "land", "watersurface", "underwater", "overland", and "sky", which correspond to the Land, UpWater, UnderWater, Air1, and Air2 variables, respectively. If the Pokémon can spawn in that type of terrain, the corresponding parameter should be set to "yes". The types of terrain that the Pokémon cannot spawn in should be left alone. The times of day that the Pokémon can spawn are specified by the parameters "all", "morning", "day", "evening", and "night". If the Pokémon can spawn at any time of day, then "all" should be set to "yes", and the other parameters should be left alone. If the Pokémon can only spawn at certain times of day, then the times of day at which the Pokémon cannot spawn should be set to "0". All other times of day will display the Pokémon's standard spawn weight. If the Pokémon can spawn as the leader of a group, the parameter "group" should be set to the chance of this happening as a percent (without the % sign). If the species of the group is different than the species of the leader, the parameters "groupnum" and "groupmon" should be set to the Pokédex number and name, respectively, of the group's species. Otherwise, the group Pokémon displayed will be the same species as the leader. If the group's species has a specific form, that form must be specified using the "groupform" parameter, even if the group Pokémon is the same species and form as the leader

Probability weight indicates the likelihood that a Pokémon will spawn at a certain point in this location relative to others that can spawn there. A higher probability weight generally indicates that a Pokémon is more likely to spawn.
Pokémon with the highest or lowest level requirements may not spawn in every possible location within this area.
A bolded level range replaces the Pokémon's non-bolded level range after the player has completed The Way Home.

Each catch subtemplate, with the exception of the chart-setting header, div, and footer subtemplates, work to create the wild Pokémon availability chart for the main series games. There are some basic parameters shared among them, with some difference depending upon the games that are covered.

Catch/header

Catch/div

The various catchentry templates begin in the same way, with the Pokémon's National Pokédex number in the first parameter followed by its name in the second parameter. The third through fifth (third and fourth only for pairs) parameters may be set to "yes" or "no" in order to indicate if a Pokémon is available in that game, with the third as the first game, the fourth as the second, and fifth as the third version.

Catch/footer

This ends the chart. It has only one parameter, which should be the same terrain type as in the header.

Catch/footer/9 acts the same as Catch/footer, but it contains additional information that only applies to Generation IX games. It should only be used to end Generation IX availability charts.

A colored background means that the Pokémon can be found in this location in the specified game. A white background with a colored letter means that the Pokémon cannot be found here.

This catchentry is used for locations that wild Pokémon can spawn in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
