Moongeist Beam (Japanese: シャドーレイ Shadow Ray) is a damage-dealing Ghost-type move introduced in Generation VII. It is the signature move of Lunala and Dawn Wings Necrozma.
In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it can be upgraded to the exclusive Z-Move Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom by Lunala or Dawn Wings Necrozma holding Lunalium Z.
Effect
- Main article: Ignoring Abilities
Moongeist Beam inflicts damage, ignoring all ignorable Abilities during the execution of that move. (Ignorable Abilities are most Abilities that could potentially negatively affect the success, damage, or effects of a move if possessed by the target of a move or its allies—such as Multiscale and Friend Guard.) However, it does not ignore Abilities if it is called by another move rather than directly used.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Moongeist Beam cannot be selected in a battle.
