Effect
Held item
A Ganlon Berry raises the holder's Defense by one stage when the holder's HP drop to ¼ or below. If the holder has Gluttony, then it eats its Ganlon Berry when its HP drops to ½ or below. If the holder has Ripen, then its Defense rises by two stages.
When forcibly consumed via Fling, Pluck, Bug Bite, Teatime, or Item Urge, it raises the Defense of the consumer by one stage.

A Ganlon plant will yield 1-5 Berries. A growing Ganlon plant's soil dries by 4% every hour, fully drying out in 25 hours.
Generation V
A Ganlon plant will yield ? Berries.
Generation VI

Pokémon X and Y
A Ganlon plant will yield 1-10 Berries. During its growth, watering the plant adds 0.2 Berries to the final harvest, weeding it adds 0.1, and removing a pest adds 1. Ganlon plants attract Illumise as pests. If grown next to each other, a Ganlon Berry and a Liechi Berry may mutate into a Kee Berry.
